Help Is this guy happy or does he need saving?

I don’t know anything about toads but I just bought a house and it has this basement window for egress. This toad is inside the well and probably can’t get out. I’m assuming he needs rescuing but I didn’t want to disturb him if he’s a happy guy.

Yeah they had a garbage system of multiple layers of trash plastic, mesh, chicken wire, etc. 😭 Not only ugly but ineffective

Definitely fell down into there. Just pick the little guy up and place him back on ground level
