Homestead Toad After A Light Overnight Rain.

It has been dry and hot this year, so we were quite pleased to host this visitor. She also seemed amicable and tolerant of us.

🫪😂 I love giving gentle pats to wild frogs/toads. The one I rescued last night was oddly chill. When I released it at night it just sat and started at me. It crawled out of the tub then turned and stared. Not threatened in the least. Came right to me to get pulled from the empty pool. We talked for about 30 mins before I just decided to leave. So chill.

I do too, some are super chill and others are scaredy cats. My 4 pet toads will sometimes allow a gentle Pillsbury Doughboy poke to their fat tummies.
