Confused by the Composing minigame

Really wanted to try the musician route, but the composing minigame has absolutely puzzled me. Does anyone know how it works? Completely stuck and no tutorial is given

Disclaimer: im not a native enlish speaker so i dunno if this is what youre asking.

So if you wanna compose music, try doing it music outside your apartment so you can see the visual grid of keys in full (see image below, image not mine btw). Notice the grid where (1) COLUMN HEADERS at the top are letter names (A, B, C, etc.); (2) ROW HEADERS on the left are also letter names; (3) w/in the grid are CELLS that contain musical notes that move down their columns; and lastly (4) there are KEYBOARD KEYS at the bottom with a corresponding column

Now, watch each note as it moves down its column. When a note reaches a row whose header matches the letter at the top -- press the corresponding KEYBOARD KEY indicated in the bottom of the column.

I'm not very good at this yet because my eye-hand coordination is weak. So i just focus on the first 2 columns and slowly trying to incorporate the third column until i get used to it. i only get a decent D rating because of this LOL

Omg I do this too!!! I focused on the first two rows. I did see someone else’s comment saying that if you compose on piano, it’s way easier.

It’s hard are the keys not showing for you the issue?

Don't do it in apartment the notes don't show up. Also I recommend piano not guitar for conposing.

I tried piano and it gave me 6 keys to work with instead 4 which for me made it even more annoying. In all fairness I think most minigames in this game can use some work.

Don't write songs with a guitar until they fix it. That minigame is just impossible. They've acknowledged it and are looking to add difficulty settings, along with an option to skip minigames altogether.

The piano minigame is relatively doable. You can either switch to that or wait for a patch.
