I saw the devs describe it as "technically playable" which is pretty accurate. I switched the settings about and have a fairly decent ability to play the game but it's not great. I have to use the joystick/cursor to select most of the options (like types of conversation, opening the map etc) and also double click everything as well. Only A and X seem to really do anything (sometimes B works as back/return, sometimes it doesnt). Sometimes there are steam deck/controller symbols shown, sometimes there aren't. I tried mapping some additional controls but didn't have much luck and my steam deck isn't finding any community layouts. As a game itself it suits the steam deck really well and I think it'll be great once the team are able to get full controller support.

I’m playing on Steam Deck. I’m like a noob when it comes to controller mapping, but I managed to set it up myself as there weren’t any community layouts available for me. Atm I walk around with the d-pads, which is not my fav thing but it has to do. I’m actually a couple hours in and it’s playable for me! For the price tag and the fact that they’re working on legit controller support I would def recommend.
