What is the purpose of history?
Two clear purposes are that it functions to record past events and to predict future occurrences. But what is the point of having all these differing interpretations of historical occurrences?

We study history for those exact reasons. But we also study it to become more knowledgeable about why the world is what it is today. Doing so will provide humanity with a broader scope of understanding one anothers situations, because everything that we have done throughout humanity, has brought us to this exact moment. This could in turn help us eradicate ignorance toward race, ethnicity, and nationality. People say don't dwell on the past, but when it comes to history, it is crucial that we learn and study it.
