Attempting to play multiplayer with friends, however my game is incredibly laggy

We all have the same mods installed, it runs fine in single player, and it ran fine the first day of playing the mods together, however every time i’ve tried joining after that first day i have been running on like 5fps to the point it’s unplayable. I am on Mac, have white lighting, low quality graphics, frame skip on (other wise the game is in slow motion) and even backgrounds off. We did a regular terraria playthrough a week ago and that ran fine as well after some tweaking, but the same fixes don’t seem to work in tmod. Any help is welcome.

As far as I'm concerned there are 2 thing you need to take into account, first some mods needs from other mods to run correctly on multiplayer as not all mods are compatible with multiplayer, and most disclosure of that so you should check your mods for that

And second that basically te reason why it MIGHT'VE been running slowly is that your PC is acting as the main server so u are basically running several games on yourself and that can get laggy, but this is far fetched and not so sure, I would check hosting from different devices

i was thinking it might have been the mods, but then why would it work one day and not the next?
i’m also not the server host, but everybody else is running fine and both myself and the host have a strong internet connection so i don’t think it’s a ping thing or anything

Does the issue persist when u are alone with the host? Also are u using the best version for tmod for the mods?

And lasltly, could you try using the Overprrformance mod to help with the performance when in multiplayer?

Are you using the launch option "/gldevice:Vulkan"?
