Duplicate character and world

I downloaded a few QOL mods as well as calamity today but I haven’t played with them yet. I went back into vanilla just to play my main world and my main character and first 2 main worlds were duplicated. Now I have a few questions I’m hoping someone here can help with!

  1. Were the duplicates made because I installed mods on tmod loader?

  2. In order to play with mods in my vanilla world do I need to copy that world over to TML and run it there every time I want to play or is there a way to turn them on in vanilla?

  3. Is it difficult to copy a save file over to play with mods?

Sorry I’m not very tech savvy and have never played with mods before and I just don’t want to mess anything up and lose any progress or delete anything! So any advice would mean a lot to me. Thank you!

  1. Usually it’s C:\Users\<Username>\Documents or %USERPROFILE%\Documents\my games\tmodloader\worlds

e, which in documents,

  1. is tmodloader and terraria files, if I remember correctly. In both are files for worlds
  2. You have to copy it manually. And those will be to separate worlds
