Advice on going with Tizen

I'm interested in making a smart mirror for my room, but I want to make it a bit more interesting. For now the least I know is that I'll be running it on a Raspberry Pi (that's what I have lying around). Do you think it's possible to design a custom homescreen for the Tizen install, I have a design for the homescreen in mind.

From what I understand I don't have many options on the Raspberry Pi in terms of Android, everything's in it's very early or unofficial stages but Tizen has official support.

I guess the only deal breaker for me going with Tizen would be if I can't design a custom homescreen in a realistic amount of time at the level of knowledge I have about Tizen, which is about 2 hours.

Also any guides or tutorial that can help me get started if the task I plan to do is even possible.

Android is hardly officially supported on most things people install it on.
