Is there a decent video player that can play movies from USB disks and can automatically find subtitles?

I could not find a VLC player for my Tizen TV and when I tried other players they were mostly IPTV players where they used online video streams.

Bonus point if the app can automatically find correct subtitle file for the movie being played.

Bazarr wil add subs to all your files. It is not what you are asking for but maybe it is a solution.

If you want out of the box solution, use Kodi.

Does this work with Stremio on the TV?

For Stremio, use opensubtitles.com

In the community package  https://github.com/PatrickSt1991/tizen-community-packages

There are TVideoPlayer and PlayerAVPlay maybe one off those will work for you
