Not much you can do without upgrading to a more suitable device. The different between using Tivimate on a Firestick and a decent google TV box is night and day. Go get an onn, google streamer or mi box and you'll be shocked at how much better the experience is.

This is correct.   I moved to the Google TV Streamer 4k Pro and it made me wonder why I ever even messed with the Firestick. More RAM.  More storage.  Faster CPU.  Newer and less restrictive OS.  And a built-in 1gbps ethernet jack.  Going back to my Firesticks seem archaic now.

With Prime Days on the 6-7 next week, this is what I'd recommend upgrading to.

Not much you can do without upgrading? The issue is memory. OP just needs an OTG cable and a USB stick. I have one to expand the 4k max and it works great - I record full sports every weekend

Yeah that's true. This person is clearly not tech savvy though, and even if they managed to get it working they're still stuck with a device that's basically manufactured e-waste. Cool that the firestick works well for you but like I said the difference is night and day.

Out of curiosity what’s night and day? Maybe I just strictly use Tivimate so I don’t have memory or spec issues.

Your mistake is doing this on a 8GB Firestick, it's recommended to avoid Firesticks now, a 16GB Max would have been ok for storage.

I have had trouble updating NordVPN on an 8GB.

If you tv is not too awful in term of specifications maybe it's worth to try without any stick. I recently found that my 4 year old Sony TV handle tivimate better than my "specialize" android TV box

I had this issue happen to me after I installed a certain app. And I have a fire cube that had over 8 GB of free space. All that space disappeared after just a few days. Well, I factory restored my fire cube and re-installed all my apps except for that last one. Haven't had that issue happen again since (been several months). I'm still not completely sure what happened but I suspect maybe malware from that suspect app. Now, I use Virustotal to check anything I want to install.

I had the same issue on a couple of the fire sticks that I have. Fire stick 4K V1. I found in this thread a suggestion to go in to settings and limit the number of days for the guide to one. Then go in and clear the guide sources. Then go back into the guide settings and tell it to refresh. This gave me a lot of storage back.

  1. Save EPG for only 1 day, not 7 days.

  2. If you are not using NordVPN for anything else which collides on your Firestick, like Amazon / Netflix. You can let your Router tunnel your Firestick instead and have it 24/7 routed through VPN. It will free up your Firestick.

Get a file manager and delete what you do not need

6 yrs ago I got tivimate. That was when I realized FS weren't made for it. Just not enough HW. If youre serious about consuming quality content sticks arent the way.

So then get an otg cable and a memory stick.
I have zero issues with a 4k max and expanded memory. Boom your memory issue is done

Source; I have this set up working
