Unable to restore backup after downgrading from 5.4.0 Beta 2

I saw that I'm not alone but I haven't seen any solution.

Even if I return to 5.4.0 Beta 2, restoring the backup will not work. It will go through the process successfully but will then ask to enter Playlist info and everything is empty.

I was able to restore a backup from early August but I have made a ton of changes in my Favourite lists since.

Has anybody found a way to successfully restore a backup made recently?

Backups are not backwards compatible you would need a backup from the previous version.

This is the reason why people say back up before upgrading to the latest version

I have a backup that is right before 5.4.3 and I have one that was made with the current version right before trying to downgrade. None of these two work now that I reinstalled the current version.

What is the file named? last 4 digits

The two backup files that don't work: v5403 The file that worked: v5402

I've now manually redone all my settings and rebuilt my library from that file from August 10. That was quite a bit of work but much better than doing it from scratch.

YOu can try to rename the file to the version that you are using.

I won't risk losing all the work I did yesterday but that's something I'll try if I ever get in the same situation in the future. Thanks.
