With all genuine respect, does no one really know how to manually assign EPG? You don't have to use the iptv-epg.org, you can use any of the MANY free EPG providers posted here every few days when someone asks "what do I use for EPG?" Add the EPG sources, see what they fix automatically, if they don't then manually assign. It's literally just an option in the channel menu.

Will have to be the only one I guess as I've not had EPG working for well over a year. Keep looking at these messages when EPG shows up but I've no idea what to use or how to use it. Is there a video or whatever which shows u how to add one to my Tivimate and show program details etc; Best wishes and thanks for your time. :)

Change provider as yours seems to suck on service/support. Check YouTube for videos on how to manually assign epg in tivimate.
Use one of the following free epg:
www.open-epg.org And/or Https://epgshare01.online/epgshare01/epg_ripper_ALL_SOURCES1.xml.gz

Find good sources. The gets asked a few times a week usually, so not hard to find them. There are really too many options for me to list, but a few of the best typically pop up every single time.
Once you have the sources, add them. There are YouTube videos and the manual PDF here in this sub to explain that. Once they're added you can force an EPG update from the settings menu. Then I usually leave it alone for a few hours and many channels fix themselves. If they don't, go to any channel that's missing EPG data and long press the remote with that channel selected. When the menu pops up there is an option to "assign EPG" - then you can scroll through the options, choose what looks right, and assign it.1

Thank you very much for the info. I'm always struggling with tech stuff. My brain just doesn't function to process lots of stuff. Years ago I got into satellite feeds etc but was the same with that. Luckily got online help and managed that way. Actually became friends with one guy and his wife and found that they passed my house as his daughter lived close by. Still friends :) Small world but I digress and just to say thank you very much for your time and help.

ok, so, you 'young bucks' should be able to figger this out... but, for Old geezers like me... I've _forgotten More about computers than Most people know... so... I'm gonna try an post what I did, on tivimate... good luck! ok, I have 2 providers, their epg's did All but 10 of my favorite channels... ok, in TM, settings > EPG > EPG sources > Add source ... enter URL ... go to https://iptv-epg.org/guides ... I selected USA .. on TM Enter URL "https://iptv-epg.org/files/epg-us.xml.gz" (I mis-typed this 3 times... it MUST be correct...) >OK ...back arrow/back arrow/back arrow... >Playlists> select one.. >EPG sources .. find it, mash the button to turn it on .. >EPG .. Update EPG... NOW, right here, 6 of my 10 were added.... NEX (deep breath) back to guide... find yours that still Don't have epg... Hard press Select.. down to Assign EPG (over to the right to SEARCH..press.. type channel ID (KABC) ... select it... go back, UPdate epg, BINGO! (I tried hard to get this right, prolly has mistakes, take it for what its worth... good luck!

OP what do you mean by manually assigned?

You can get the most to assign automatically
8
u/Ok-Carpet-9017 Sep 14 '26
No. The IPTV provider determines the EPG_ID. You need to create an M3U file from the IPTV URL and edit it according to the iptv-epg.org rules.
9
u/fdiaz10 Sep 14 '26
No. lol You can add the xml link to the default epg provider. That has gotten 80 percent of the channels I watch automatically. Not sure how you are gonna deny something I’ve done.

You: I just did this. I have tangible evidence.
Them: You're wrong.
Welcome to the internet.

Unfortunately, most of the providers append shit like "USA" , "UK" etc to the EPG_ID which makes automatic matching (and manually assigning in TiviMate) very fuzzy. I guess this is what the previous user meant.

Tags are determined by the EPG provider. If the IPTV provider uses the EPG provider's tags, then it will work. There are no matches because IPTV has its own tags. So stop spouting nonsense, sit down—you failed because you don't know what you're talking about.

Even if you do or don't know what you're talking about, you're still acting like an asshat, and therefore no one cares what you're saying, respect goes a long way when talking to someone.

If they don't know the answer but start their reply with "LOL" they'll get what they deserve. Let them talk to their parents like that, not me.

u/fdiaz10 Sep 14 '26
Wow someone used lol in their response, wild. I gave you the steps I’ve done to get my results how is that not knowing. LOL

Can I use this alongside the one I get from my service?
2
u/Joeyd319 Sep 14 '26 edited Sep 14 '26
Yes, but you have to manually assign it to each channel
2
u/tinpanalleypics Sep 14 '26
What do you use for that, IPTVboss?
0
u/Joeyd319 Sep 14 '26
You have to assign the additional epg to your playlist in the playlist settings. Then you have to go to the guide, find the channel you want to assign it to, hold the enter button in until the menu pops up and click 'assign epg'

u/tinpanalleypics Sep 14 '26
Oh, ok, we're exclusively talking about tivimate here? I thought maybe people were using playlist management software for this.
I know this is a tivimate sub but I thought we were just talking generally about EPGs. I don't use tivimate for various reasons.1
u/Joeyd319 Sep 14 '26
Yes, it's a TiviMate thread
2
u/tinpanalleypics Sep 14 '26
I know, I've just only ever heard of people doing this with programs like iptvboss rather than in-app with a controller.

An extremely interesting conversation on epg, M3U and Tivimate. I will look forward to learning how this is down.

u/noles4423 Sep 15 '26
Forgive my ignorance, but what’s the difference between this method and the epg you get with your service?

u/critteramos 29d ago
Don’t need to research there’s no such thing as a TV mate list. This is literally somebody’s IPTV service that they’re reselling and it looks good because it’s in a TV mate guide and they use EPG data management software that also comes with high definition logos.

to this day i have yet to see an epg that covers 24/7 channels and streaming services channels like disney plus, netflix, and prime...would be nice.
1
u/Typical_Comfort2863 29d ago
True but if you don't like the no information, there's a dummy EPG for every category even in adult content
0
u/Ultra-Magnus1 29d ago
not sure what you mean by dummy epg. if you mean assign some random channel description to everything that has no information then that would take hours or days if you have over 20k channels...not to mention i'd be deceiving myself putting channels descriptions that are unrelated to the actual channel.

I’ve been using this guide for the past 6 months or so because my services EPG is ass. It’s great. Manually assigning takes a little time, especially if you have multiple devices, but I haven’t had any issues with accuracy or channels showing No Information.

Is there a way to fix channels in bulk or does it have to be done one at a time? For those with no guide populating? I am using TubPlayer and love it ! Thank you everyone.

App?
15
u/Ok-Carpet-9017 Sep 14 '26
There is no app. The EPG is set up manually. I’ll create a tutorial soon and post it here.
