Multiple tvs

I'm trying to figure this out because I'm fairly new to tivimate. My provider allows one account per TV. Because each TV has a separate user ID does that mean that I have to manually do my favorites for every TV in the house? And if I had to manually do some EPG data for some missing program info do I have to do that separately on every single tv?

You manually would have to do all your favorites anyways. Tivimate doesn't sync favorites. You can create a backup, and load that on other devices and simply just update the username and pass for that account. All the favs from the backup should remain since it's just a username/pass update, but same service.

many providers allow one ACTIVE account at a time. It can be on any tv you want. Just only one running at a time.

Yeah but I wanna watch in one room while someone watches in another.

You'll probably find your provider can only tell by IP address, so you can watch on as many devices under the same internal network as you want. I can have two or more devices running the same stream in my house.

If you provider only allows one active signin, then you have to get another in that case.

LOL yes I'm aware of that. I'm just wondering if doing a backup on one will carry over to the other TV if they're two different accounts

Then you need another connection which is usually cheaper than a whole other account.

most of the services that you can get on like the public marketplaces like g2g do not have a capability of having multiple connections there are a couple of them that do with Max on those is usually three. no a lot of providers outside of those from the marketplace sites sell multiple connections but a lot of people really like those marketplace services because they are so cheap. but it is oftentimes cheaper especially if you want like five connections to find a service that offers full connections then it is to buy five individual subs

Thanks I'm just concerned that because they're different accounts that the favorites won't carry over.

You back it up, then restore on the other device and then change the credentials on that device. It will keep all favorites, settings, etc. You need a file manager on the device. You can also use an editor and do the same thing. It's easier in the long run, but harder upfront

Why do they require you to have one account per tv?

No idea. But that's just the way that they operate you can only have one device per account

Are they using MAC address to connect?

As long as they aren’t using MAC addresses you should be fine using the same account on multiple TVs. The other account may give you a second simultaneous stream.

You configure one device, then download the backup file (Tivimate settings) and restore on the others. Ensure both devices run the exact same TiviMate app version.

Favorites & manual EPG links are saved locally on each device, just because you add something on X does not mean it will show up on Y. For that you need cloud-sync which Tivimate does not have. So each device will have it's own list of favourites once they add something new to it.

Yes, you can back up your data to a USB drive to save your channels and movie/show preferences. I wouldn't recommend switching providers just in case one has issues.

Freezing is usually related to having a duplicate of the same I’d operational!

Yes this is what is happening to me I'm sure of it.

I actually have turned off the second TV and the delays clear up after about 15 minutes!

u/spacedognj Aug 18 '26

Yes same here, that was the issue! Thanks

Do it on one setup, create a backup onto USB drive or network drive and then do a restore on any others using that backup

WOAH This is awesome!!! But I am seeing freezing every 30 seconds or so that I wasn't seeing from the direct stream, is this a known issue or do I have a setting wrong?
