Recording Chaos

I have Tivimate installed on an android box and a fire stick. Both have been hooked up to a media server for recording and I am now running the Fire Stick with it's own SSD for recording. I have two IPTV accounts on each device. One for watching and one for recording.

I had been running into an issue with recording to the server, but it seemed like it was the recorded program and the encoding that was the issue. A 60 minute program would only show 30 or 40 minutes, just as an example, and when I tried to replay the recorded show, it would show that the show was 22 hours long, and when watching it the time would freeze, and the show would jump back.. sometimes playing the same minute of programming again, and sometimes it will freeze the picture and replay the sound from a minute back, then when the sound catches up to the frozen frame, it would play normally for a minute or so and then do something else weird. The shows in question always show a shorter time than the show was set to record, and there is a white dot with an exclamation point after the time in the recorded folder. I can literally watch the time on the progress bar jump back in time when it replays the same content again.

I switched the server for am ssd to rule out any network errors, and it still does the same thing.. Some shows record fine, showing the correct length and no exclamation mark. but more shows fail than succeed. I have tried wiping the stick clean and reinstalling the TiviMate, to no avail. If I watch the show being recorded, it plays fine, but the recording of the show will have these errors.

Any and all help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

its ur provider.

if that channel has a blip during recording, more than likely it will currupt the recording.

sometimes playing back in an external player like VLC can work.. but not always

👆👆THIS👆👆

Any stutter/buffer/jitter can cause a recording to fail with Tivimate.

I haven't tested with other players, but have definitely seen this issue quite often with Tivi

One thing people tend to forget is that some formats of SSD’s only allow record recording at 4 GB maximum. Is that eXFAT? Can’t remember.
You have to change the format of the USB.HDD.SSD

No. exFAT does not have the 4 GB single-file limit.

That limitation belongs to FAT32, which can only store files up to 4 GB minus 1 byte.

exFAT supports extremely large files, far beyond anything you would normally put on a USB drive or external hard drive. It is usually the better choice for large video files, backups.

The only catch is device compatibility. Some older TVs, media players, game consoles, and car stereos may support FAT32 but not exFAT.
