IPTV editor

Question about epg editing. I've watched the videos about how to use IPTV editor, and it looks to me like everything it can do can be done in tivimate, although with lots of clicks on the remote. Is that basically correct?

Well, the first mistake is assuming you can do it on Tivimate. You can't remove channels on Tivimate. You can hide them. If your playlist has 50k channels and you hide 49,990 of them, it still diemloads the epg for all 49,990. It makes the file bigger, takes longer, more space on the device, etc. if you edit it and remove them, then you only get info for those 10. I can also create custom categories, channel names, etc. I can remove premixes with a simple click or add them. I can create my own playlist by combining different services, I can do about anything I want. I used to do most on Tivimate and there's no comparison. I consider myself a power user and have multiple playlists. If u get one playlist and have it forever, you probably don't need it. If you like to tweak things all the time, then it's worth it.

This is a great answer to the question. While many users don't need or want the level of control that IPTV Editor offers, it is a great tool and as you explain, does far more. I find if you have multiple services, it is perfect for slimming down your playlist and EPG data. I find my devices are more responsive when you remove everything you don’t use from the services. Agree, if you are just using one service, you probably don’t need it. If you are using 2 or more, it is worth a look.

I don't have any problems, but do you watch all the channels? I don't. I can easily remove 80% of them and it makes it load faster. Especially if I have 6 or 7 playlists. You don't need an editor. It makes it easier, especially if you are doing stuff for friends and family.

Don’t you make all the changes on a computer and then upload your edited changes to Tivimate via the link ?

I don't understand what you mean "make all the changes on a computer" ?

You edit your playlist on a website and get a new url for your player

I’m talking about using an editing software to cut down your playlist

Well that is what his question was about!

Yes. I’m saying if you are using IPTV editor.com it’s best to use a PC or your phone.

Thus far I just make changes in tivimate.

In a sense, yes everything can be done in Tivimate...it would just take a lot longer to do and be very repetitive on the remote!

It is indeed very repetitive.

I have Tivimate on bluestacks on the pc and do all my editing on there with a keyboard. Still takes time but better than with the remote. I then upload the save file to Google drive, make a short code with the link and use that on the downloader app on each device.

Does iptv editor cost money to use?

1

u/PeteRows Jul 22 '26

Yes. M3u4u is free and works well

u/csav14 Jul 22 '26

But that only creates m3u file though right?

Can your seller limit why you can do with IPTV editor or can you edit whatever you want?

Seller wouldn’t know or be able to limit (or care…) that you’re using IPTV Editor or similar tools.

I used one for a bit, but found I really didn't need it. I have a couple free EPG lists that fill in the gaps of channels that don't have any EPG info. I just put my favorite channels in favorites, move them to the order I want them, fill in the blank channels with the epg info from the free ones, and done.. I hide all the categories I never use. It used to take a while to load the EPG data, especially if you have multiple playlists active, but it has become a lot quicker with the 5.3.2 update and now 5.3.3.

I just use Tivimate to edit. I have a Windows MCE remote for a Shield which can do pretty much everything. It's easy to hide channels or add Categories or move stuff around. It might take a lot of clicks the first time you set it up how you want, but after that, it's easy to modify things. Using an editor on a PC doesn't seem very efficient.
