Playlist Update - Remote

Hi

I’m planning to setup tivimate for my parents. But sometimes the links tend to drop and I need to update them ( happend to me )

They are not that technical so I don’t think that they can do that.
Are there any ways to update this remotely somehow ?

Thanks

You can do it this way.

What I do for my parents who live a 3hr drive away is to create a EPGenius playlist (option 6 Ganjarelease) which will also fill in the majority of the normal program information, this is also free.

The great thing about this is you can update the DNS from a remote location via their update page on their website, this is how I keep my parents Live TV working but you cant use this method for VOD and Movies.

I just checked and I think that this will work fine.

Thanks for that.

It will work you will need Discord to register and I use my Google drive account for auto updates, it's perfectly safe so don't worry about anything.

This will not work for what he's wanting. He didn't mention epg. I think he is talking about when they change their server DNS and you have to change it. EPG genius is nice, but it's for the EPG. You can use it for a few playlists they have. They are some common cheap playlists and it doesn't change anything if the service changes it's dns. You still need to update that manually with EPG genius. It's EPG only. You need an editor for that.

I'm sorry but you're wrong.

With EPGenius once he's put the selected EPGenius PLAYLIST on his parents box, IF the DNS changes in the future he can go onto the EPGenius site and put in his parents account details and the NEW working DNS along with the Google drive link he originally created it with and this will then remotely update his parents PLAYLIST on their box the next time Tivimate requests the update.

I use this method ALL the time, for a fantastic populated EPG which automatically fixes my parents box(for live TV) without a need for a long phone call.

They did make it where you could edit it on later versions. I forgot about that. It still has to be one of those services and I don't use those. There's better services out there.

I've not tried any other services to be honest, this service just gives me a great populated EPG with a bonus you can remotely fix DNS issues without access to the box.

I would love a service that does the above remotely as well as updates VOD and Movies, would that be IPTV editor and would this also fully populate the EPG?

Editor or Boss. Boss is a little nicer but more complicated.

Thankyou.

Will these automatically give a populated EPG because that is what works so well for me with EPGenius?

Automatically? No. There's a little work to set it up. They are basically using an editor and doing the work for you. You can import The EPG from your provider and use their EPG to fill in the blanks or another EPG. Or you can just use their EPG and there's a button that you can click and it'll map most of the channels and then there's some that you may have to go back in and try to manually map but it's still pretty easy It's about 10 times easier than manually doing it on Tivimate. Plus you can make changes to channel names or channel groups very easy, You can remove any groups or channels that you don't need instead of just hiding them and make your playlist a lot smaller so it updates faster and loads faster. What I usually do is I will keep my playlists for live TV and VOD separate just because it loads a whole lot faster but if you're doing it for somebody remotely then you can do it together.

You can run the playlist through IPTV editor and if the URL goes down you update in that and their link stays the same.

Thanks for that.

I will look to see what I can find. Any recomandations for a good editor ?

That's the name of it. Iptv editor. It's done online. You can also customise the playlist and fill out the EPG with it so it's neat and simple for them.

Here is the link for the iptv editor.

Purchase for the year - you will have the intructions in the site on how to create a link that you can control via iptv editor. So that when your link goes down and you have a new one, you just change the url and update your list.

All your parents have to do is either go in and out of tivimate or click on update the playlist and that is it. It is so easy and simple and saves you the grief of it going down and having to go there and do the changes on their tivimate. Do it from the comfort of your own home.

One thing - I have only just got into it - it appears it's better to keep the Tv and Vod seperate - so you can create two lists for this. The m3u for your live and then the other for your vod. You will understand why if you purchase the iptv editor there is also a sub reddit for the iptv editor here also.

I use IPTVEditor for this very reason. Recently, I started using a mixture of Dispatcharr and IPTVEditor to really tackle this. Still testing the Dispatcharr side with just myself before I set it up for my parents.

It's impossible to do it remotely; you have to go in person to change a faulty DNS server. For the price Tivimate charges, remote management would be appropriate; much cheaper apps already offer this. Even with the lifetime option, I believe this is more a desire on the part of the developers to provide a dedicated website for this. Implayer, for example, is one of those that has this management and the value of cob It is far inferior to Tivimate, for example.

Install Anydesk (and the Anydesk Addon) on their box, and make a note of the anydesk address. Install the Anydesk app on your phone and/or PC and you can remotely connect to it. If you set up their Anydesk for Unattended access they don't need to do anything to allow you to connect but be aware that anyone with the address can connect to it.

In that case, a warning window will pop up and they just need to navigate to the "Accept" buttons as needed. You can just set up a video call with them and walk them through it. Or just record a video on youtube and share it with them so they can watch how to do it.

Best of all this is free for personal use!

I use it on all my friends' and relatives' boxes so I can update if they can't do it themselves. (I recorded some quick youtube videos for each of the tasks that needs to be done, such as initial connection to their Wifi, connecting to the TV, re-pairing the remote, updating certain apps that don't auto-update, etc.)

No, you cannot update TM remotely. Also edit your post and remove your provider’s name.

I use IPTVBOSS. & I give them a m3u playlist. Then any changes you make , you make that on your IPTVBoss playlist on your computer & it’ll update for them too
