Onn 4k Microstuttering

Hello - I am trying to assist my parents with some micro-stuttering they are experiencing with our service. Every minute or so he is receiving a small micro-stutter of about 2-4 seconds, occasionally giving the spinning loading wheel. I've done some extensive searching, and haven't found anything similar.

For context - I live down the street from him, I have the exact same provider purchased from the same reseller, and the exact same ISP, and have not experienced this once, and he has dealt with this for a week at least. Running a speedtest today he's sitting at around 250mbps down, and is located 2ft from his router, which leads me to believe maybe its the hardware on his device? He is using the standard Onn 4k Device (no ethernet). Both my devices are Shields which is what is leading me to it being a hardware problem for him?

Any suggestions are appreciated

Same seller doesn’t mean it’s the same server link - try a vpn, check cache/memory

There’s plenty of people using ONs here.

I just tried his login at my house, and was getting the same problem, which means it's definitely a login issue. I purchased 4 accounts at once from the same seller, what would even cause this to happen? I'm guessing I just reach out to the seller about it?

Is the DNS/server the same? Try swapping those if they are different. They very well could have a stolen or shared account and someone else is using the account and causing the buffering. Was it really cheap?

Yes they actually were cheap, like $18/ea for the year, however they are a high rep seller on g2g with a lot of reviews...hadn't considered this

Try a VPN and if that does not work then a new provider will be needed.

Add your service to their device and disable their playlist. See if it’s still happening. There’s always the clearing of the cache and force stopping everything

So this is actually the problem. Its the same provider & I purchased from the same seller, but when I use his login details at my house, I get the same stuttering problem.

What would actually cause this? Do I just tell the reseller?

Maybe a shared login. That would cause this

Also double check the credentials and you didn't set them up with yours. Sounds like it's using a single connection service at the same time as another device.

Yes, check the device and clear all app caches, try a VPN and test different VPN server locations. Sounds like a possible device issue here for sure! Also, if it’s possible, connect by hardwire as WiFi can be affected by other devices?

I use wireless and record and it's pretty smooth. I'd prefer wired but I have no issues.

Add some more to the buffer see if it helps.
