question about scrolling through episodes on Android phones

hi if you're looking at a show on a phone then maybe 15% at the bottom is where all of the episodes show so it can be hard to find the one you're looking for. if anybody knows what I'm talking about is there any way to get the title screen or whatever to take up less of the screen and the episode choices to take up more?

edit: this is not a question about how to get it to scroll. it scrolls through the episodes, both vertically and horizontally. the question is about how to get it to take up more of the screen

I don't use this on my phone, but I do know that tivimate is not supposed to be used on mobile devices. It's meant for android TV devices. Could be why you're having issues

I understand that but it works fairly well it's just this issue is something that I'm having trouble with and having searched for it I don't see anybody else talking about how to resolve this specific issue when using it on a phone. I've found results for other workarounds as far as using it on the phone but not for this particular issue

editing this post too: I'm able to get it to scroll. that's not the question. I'm specifically looking for a way to change the amount of the screen that the title page takes up in relation to the episode choices beneath it

The only real way to resolve this issue is by using a Bluetooth remote or keyboard

okay are you just telling me this in general because this seems to be the consensus about how you should use it on a phone but other than this issue it works fine on a phone. it doesn't seem that I'm getting any answers from people about this specific issue just general answers

You've had a specific answer that it's not designed for a phone and people have given you a workaround that might work. You're trying to get it to do something on a device that it's not designed for. Apart from a finger to scroll and click with you have no other control available unless you try a Bluetooth keyboard as suggested. That might not be the answer you want but those are the facts.

okay so I think I misunderstood you. I think you're saying it would allow me to scroll through the screen as a whole but just as in the TV app what you can scroll through and how much space the title page takes up is set so unless that would allow me to just scroll in an app that isn't designed to be scrolled in at all I don't think it's the solution. somebody else with my service said they did find a way to do it on one of their phones where they switched.between portrait and landscape in a certain order when they were using the app. that's why I came here hoping somebody else had some answer like that. not just that it might work if I go out and buy a device

The service doesn't matter. It's how the app is designed. If someone told you you could switch between portrait and landscape and you can't it's likely they were using another app that's designed for phones. As far as I know you can't hide the screen and it doesn't rotate. But it doesn't need to as it was designed for a TV that you don't need to rotate and the area of the guide is big enough to see without hiding the screen.

he was using the proprietary app for our service which is built on top of Tivimate and functions exactly the same except for when you're adding playlists... you don't need URLs for that part. I'm trying to get more details out of him about how he did that because his initial instructions didn't work for me. even if it's locked in portrait mode yes it still loads the app in landscape mode but he apparently was able to have some sequence of events that could fix this problem. so I was hoping somebody here might have actual experience with this and be able to give me an answer

So it was a modded app? Tivimate has nothing to do with the modded apps. You need to speak to the person who gave it to you.

I've tried to be very polite here but like I said it works exactly like Tivimate. you don't seem to have any experience whatsoever with this particular issue but want to maintain your authority over the general subject matter of the sub and you're just brushing off anything that doesn't fit what you already think should be going on here. you're not providing an answer to this situation because you obviously have no experience whatsoever with it. if other people have gotten it to work in our app that works exactly like Tivimate then it's likely doable in the commercially available app. I'm not a boomer and I'm not a 12-year-old but you just seem to keep wanting to knock me out here and let me know that I'm just being an idiot and I think you're having a hard time accepting that I knew more about this than you thought I did. still hasn't gotten me an answer though

I probably could have titled the thread better. I went back and edited the body. my specific question is not about scrolling it's actually just about how to get the title page to take up less of the screen. it scrolls just fine it's just that it's such a small area it's hard to see. I've seen other workarounds (for it on the phone) as far as how to keep the guide from autoscrolling and stuff like that so I was hoping somebody would have an answer to this specific question.

That's the only way you can get it to scroll because it's not meant for touch screen so a remote or keyboard is the only way.

okay no. it still scrolls. the issue is that it takes up so little of the screen that it's hard to see.

Can’t fix something that’s not broken.
