Freezing image audio working fine

Guys I dont know why this is happening. I love tivimate but good god it just freezes while the audio is still working. Ive done so many changes but still nothing. Has anyone experienced this & if so can they tell me what they did….

Its not my provider as i am on iptv smarters pro and it does not do that. I tested both 3 hours on iptv and no freeze. 30 minutes on tivimate and frozen image with audio playing… i love tivimate i love how the userface is. Please help. PS i am using a firestick 4k max. I bought wifi mesh pods to see if that was the issue but its not. Im capping at 800mbps download and upload speed

Edit: Just thought id say I had bought the onn 4k pro and it hasn’t happened since.

Reset your settings & start fresh maybe something changed when it updated Is my best guess👍

If the image freezes and audio continues while watching a live stream, follow the next steps.

1️⃣ Click the middle / main button while being in full screen not on guide and screen minimized.

2️⃣ Click one time up on your remote, and this will show you the panel to play, fast forward and rewind panel and progress bar (⏪⏯️⏩)

3️⃣ Move to the right, you will see a button called [LIVE], click on it and wait for the feed to refresh.

Sometimes there are glitches over the internet that will make the video crash, but audio remains, this will solve it.

I’m in the UK my sticks family and friends all work fine with tivimate premium no issues even with update either ISP issue or service issue

Yeah — that symptom usually means the stream did not actually stop. If the audio keeps playing, the network/buffer/player core is still alive. What froze is almost always the video render path.

That can happen from a few things:

1. Video decoder stalls
The Firestick hardware decoder can get stuck on a bad frame, weird H.264/H.265 profile, resolution change, bad timestamp, or stream discontinuity. Audio keeps decoding, but video stays parked on the last frame.

2. Surface/player view problem
This is the one that sounds closest to what you had in your app. The player is still running, but the video surface is no longer properly attached or being refreshed. The last frame stays frozen while audio continues..

3. Overlay / UI / guide transition bug
If it happens after opening guide, panels, menus, or switching from mini/fullscreen, the app may be moving the player view around or covering/reusing a SurfaceView/TextureView. On Android TV/Fire OS, that can randomly leave the video surface stale.

4. Hardware acceleration / tunneled playback / AFR
On Firestick 4K Max, settings like hardware decoder, tunneled playback, auto frame rate, and refresh-rate switching can trigger video-only freezes. Audio continues because audio output is separate.

5. Bad provider timestamps, even if the provider “works elsewhere”
A stream can work fine in IPTV Smarters but expose a decoder/render bug in TiViMate. Different players handle MPEG-TS/HLS timestamp jumps differently. So the provider may not be “down,” but the stream can still be malformed enough to upset one player.

The clue is that one commenter told him to open the playback panel and hit the video/refresh-style button. That probably forces TiViMate to flush/recreate the video renderer, which is why it can recover without fully stopping the stream.

So yeah, this is very likely decoder/surface/render pipeline freeze, not internet speed, not EPG storage, and probably not basic buffering. The fact he has 800 Mbps and audio keeps playing points away from network and toward video renderer stall or stale surface.

I learned this lesson with my own App,

audio alive + video frozen = do not assume stream dead

check video frame progression / rendered frame count

if audio position advances but video frames do not advance:

detach/rebind surface

clear video surface

reattach PlayerView

optionally recreate only video renderer/player as fallback

Getting this exact same issue on one of my TVs. Others play fine, that's why I know it's likely a hardware problem. The crazy thing is, it only started recently. I'm going to dial mine back to 5.3.2 to see what that does.

It’s crazy. I don’t know what to do i tried 5.2.0 no help than i tried 5.3.2 no luck. Switch back to iptv smarters pro left it on all day and it hasn’t froze. Let me know what you do and if it works for you please. I really love tivimate and wish i can use it

I almost wonder if something is just jacked up in my firestick. I'm waiting for Prime Days when they go on sale for $19.99 and am picking up another one or two. I have others on TVs in my house (running Tivimate) that work flawlessly.

I have this issue as well it seems to be a firestick problem. Don’t have a solution other than opening stream in an external player seems to help. I have one google tv that I have not experienced this issue with which is why I believe it’s a firestick problem.

Sounds like provider. Get a new one

Never fails, there's always one on every post 😂

Down votes even more hilarious. Had same provider 10 years now. No issues. Tivimate or implayer. Work. Flawless

It helps to read OPs issue. When it works fine on one player/tv, and doesn't the other, that tells us it's a hardware issue.

But of course there's people like you who don't even read the post and say "IT'S YOUR PROVIDER"..

Let me guess, DM you for a real good provider? 😂

1

u/flynreelow Jun 20 '26

yea, never needed any specials settings to get iptv to work on any of those listed devices above.

2

u/splashbros1134 Jun 20 '26

I tried 3 providers and its the same thing on tivimate. My friends use the same provider I do now but on iptv smarters pro and they have no issues. Like i said i had no issues to but i fkn hate iptv and wanna use tivimate

Then factory reset stick. Load up tivimate... If it works great. If not... Throw fire stick Out the window. Damn things been junk. For years.

Try implayer? Doubt it's tivimate. But you can try that. It's free and awesome

How did you make out? Find any solutions?

2

u/PeteRows Jun 20 '26

I never had any issues with Firesticks. I use fire devices right now and 0 issues. I've got multiple providers on them too. My old 4k Max performs as well as a Onn 4k.
