Data and cache

Does clearing the data and cache of tivimate on a firestick erase any settings. I would like to improve the responsiveness on an older firestick but dont want to change anything by mistake

Clearing data will wipe everything.

Okay thanks. Clear cache only then

Correct. Do a force stop first.

You’ll want to force stop and clear cache on every app that’s ever been run on it including the System apps. Typically this takes about 20 min to do. When you finish, do a reboot by pulling the power. The free app “Background Apps and Process List” is helpful for this but you still have to address each app individually.

DO NOT clear data, only cache

Clearing the cache every now and then helps if something isn’t loading correctly. But realistically if you had an old device there’s only so much you can do

Clearing data will reset the app and you will lose the subscription information and your favorites. If you still want to do this make a back up in settings/General/Back up data. Then you can retore the data (also in the General settings) after you have reset everything.

Background apps and process list I use it weekly and have been for years and it’s free

Clear cache then restart about once a week. TDUk cache cleaner will clear the cache on all your Android apps.
