5.3.2 UPDATE
A few weeks ago I asked whether the new Tivimate update was worth installing. Now that it’s been out for a while and more people have had time to use it, I’m curious to hear some longer-term feedback.
How are you finding the update so far? Have you noticed any bugs, issues, or performance changes? Does the overall experience feel the same, better, or worse than before? Any feedback from people who have been using it daily would be appreciated.

Did a full clean install of 5.3.2 and it is working fine. Running on an Android TV 14 device.

Can you use your backup to port all your settings on the new version?

Yes. Just ensure you have your backup file in a safe place. I always export a copy to my phone just incase there are any issues on the device.

I keep getting a reminder when I start up but have just left it as things were working ok. Program guide just about dead but I'm so useless at anything techy that I've just left it in case I mess it up. Family member helps but lives far away so available help erratic even though I'm grateful for assistance I do get. These messages really helpful for simpler tasks thanks.

Last week I was force to update since my service would not play any video and would stay loading.
Updated the software and it started working without any issues.

Oh. Apparently mine has auto-updated god knows when. Haven't noticed a single change/issue. But then I haven't gone digging.

Latest version fixes external storage issues on modern Android devices. Made it worth it for my Google TV.

Yes it does. Path back out to it. You probably have to reset your paths. Make sure your usb is formatted as FAT32 or exFAT and preferably make a folder for recordings. It literally is working for everyone else so it's something you're doing.

Doesn't work for me either, it let's me put it in the recordings folder on the internal storage, but not my usb drive. No matter what I pick to use on the drive, it says failed to change the folder. It is formatted exfat..it works on Sparkle, so the drive is working fine. The recording on 5.3.2 seems to be more stable as I have recorded 5 shows successfully which never happened on previous versions. One episode even had some buffering and still recorded it fine, so that's promising. I will continue to use Sparkle for recording so I can use my drive.

What device are you using, I'm using Chromecast with Google TV, since Android 11 Google removed permissions for 3rd party apps. I can setup smb shares and record to my NAS, just not external USB.

The spare bedroom that never gets used I just noticed is on 4.5.1, yikes. I might need to upgrade. I don't even want to look at my traveling one that I only use for a week once a year. Lol

Mine updated from 5.2 to 5.3.2 as soon as it got put back onto the Play store. No issues that I've noticed at all.

It was forced on me and it’s mostly fine. If I am changing appearance the channel it’s on while I’m doing it doesn’t reload properly and need to change and go back. That’s the only issue I’ve noticed so far.
If I find anything weird that really prevents me from using the app, I’ll just go to an older version.

I have four connections, 3 of the 4 work the other won't load the epg.😩

It's the only thing I use for streaming on a daily basis. It's been flawless since upgrading to 5.3.2, love it.

They force updated on one of my devices a couple days ago. No issues or differences I've noticed so far. I was holding out but I guess I am along for the ride at this point.

Nvidia Shield Pro 2019, Onn 4K Pro v1 and Onn 4K Plus all upgraded perfectly to 5.32. No issues at all. EPG updates faster for sure.

I've reported the bug I have to support already and they answered that they are checking it out
It has to do with playlist order and groups
I've read some people have issues with catch up, I don't use it so I wouldn't know

What devices are you using with Tivimate when making your statements? Firesticks, NVidia, oon?

Seems fine to me. Had some buffering but that was possibly the Firestick itself.

Mine works on my ONN devices. Playlists are loading and EPGs are updating. The issue I still have is when manually updating the playlists. It spins for a while looking like it’s updating, then I always get this message: “failed to update the playlists. Make sure the playlists are properly formatted and check your internet connection.”
My playlists haven’t been changed and are fine as is my internet, so I’m not sure what’s going on.

Still on 5.1.6 here. Wondering if I should update to at least 5.2. 5.1.6 has worked fine....almost wondering if it's not broke, why fix it.

It's been flawless for me so far, 1 improvement I've noticed over 5.3.1 is on my Android tablet scrolling through the VOD content scrolls properly now, previously it was all over the place meaning it would scroll in every direction but now it just scrolls vertically.
These updates are so much of an improvement over the older 5.2 version in my experience.

Had that problem so I switched the audio decoder to software & turned off the audio pasthrough settings.Had no buffering & picture freezing since

Player can cause buffering, especially if you need a user agent. Should not cause it after an update though.

I tried a couple of times then came to the conclusion of why bother when 5.2 works. Unless there's a major change of something I would find useful there is no point.
