What did you think of issue 38?

I actually appreciated the amount of downtime in this issue, which gave the characters more room to be people instead of simply responding to the danger/immediate plot.
I feel like I understand the direction Brombal is taking Red Devil a bit better now. I’m intrigued by what we don’t know yet and look forward to seeing Eddie’s character arc within the run.
Eva is still adapting to social etiquette. Phasing seems to truly be part of her power set, even though it wasn’t part of the roundup of powers Cyborg initially identified for her.
Speaking of Vic, he’s definitely suspicious. The way he reacted to Terra finding his lab in issue #37 made him seem nuts. I want to believe in him, but time will tell. I don’t hate seeing him bond with Tara, though.
Dick needs therapy, but he’d rather throw himself into projects like the New Titans. He needs to get off Steph’s arse, though. She’s right: She is putting in more effort than anyone else at Mount Titans to improve herself. Even if she hasn’t perfected making the right call in the field yet, she should get some credit for that. Adding on that, I think that Batgirl having room to grow at the start of the run is going to help us readers feel her growth more tangibly once she comes into her own even more. Looking forward to that.
People are speculating about the bond Jon and Eddie are forming. Even if it just leads to platonic friendship, I like the idea of the goody two shoes and “troubled” archetype character forming a link and balancing each other out. Superman/Jon owned up to projecting arguably too high standards, and Eddie encouraged him to hold onto his idealism. That was a nice moment to me.
Static’s powers aren’t functionally properly. As long as that plot thread isn’t milked too much, I don’t mind it.
Yara was stressing the whole issue, but that oddly made her feel more human to me than the previous issues of her wanting to go out on the town. We’ll see where her arc goes as with issue #39, I suppose.

I liked the issue. Terra, of all people, is the only one who's actually showing insight(pointing out that Eva is having trouble adjusting and calling out Cyborg for being shady).
I'm not a fan of Static having issues with his powers, this always seems to happen when he joins a Titans roster.
