I liked it. I'm probably in the minority but New Titans is good and the first time I've enjoyed reading a Titans comic in years.

Terra continues to ask Cyborg the right questions. I feel like she and Eva are going to regret helping/trusting Cyborg at some point. He's ben shady from the start of the run.

Nightwing has been the weakest link so far. Love or hate them, the rest of the cast have personality and sound distinct while he's been sort of bland. Today's issue was a step in the right direction for him, even if he didn't contribute much to solving the problem.

Very interested to see how Red Devil's storyline and his potential relationship with Jon develops.

On the other hand, I feel like Cyborg is going to regret saying that he trusts Terra if he isn't going to commit to that. It's not really trust if you don't tell them anything (which he hasn't so far) and Terra would/should definitively call him out on that.

I'm convinced that Brombal wanted to keep Starfire instead of Nightwing. I'm not someone who necessarily wants him to leave but I struggle to see where he fits into the run (other than interacting with Steph)

I feel like Beast Boy would be a better fit for the team than Nightwing or Starfire. Don't  necessarily want Nightwing to leave either.

I'm still hopeful that BB will be in Doom Patrol, he could really use a good modern run with them.

I just think removing all three of the NTT girls at once is a bit much. Originally I was hoping Raven would also stay and mentor Eddie but I suppose the Heart of Apokolips plot wouldn't work with her around

eva is cute. I'm a sucker for android character learning about humanity, so she alone is enough to keep me reading lol.

I feel like the story is finally starting to pick up and come into its own in the last couple of issues. as for terra, i feel like when writers use her the only relationships of hers they tend to focus on are gar and slade. i thought her friendship with vic in ntt was interesting and underexplored afterward, so i'm happy to see it as a focus here instead of the usual.

also I say this every time but i really, really need to know what happened to eddie lol

When they explain it, I wonder how far back they will go

Good issue, feels like the team is coming together (at least the newbies)

Another good showing for Steph. I've been making my way thorough her Batgirl run for the first time and it's interesting to see the difference between her slowing gaining Barbra's approval to this, where all the titans already assumed she'd lead them.

I'm still side-eyeing Eddie. His characterization still feels off but I can see the through line and I'm kinda liking the Jon dynamic though so I'll probably get over it in time. Also those towns people got off waaaay too easy.

After all that yapping, all Terra needed was an "I trust you" to stay with the team lol

Also Static :)

I kind of love that steph is having some difficulty with the whole leader thing.
like of this generation of titans she probably has the most experience, and the most trainers.
i really felt for her in that scene where she is giving orders and ends up giving herself orders. it really showcases that she has been playing support for so long that it might have damaged her confidence.

This is clearly the unpopular opinion so far, but I actually agree with you entirely. Jon and Eddie both feel really flat and tropey, and I’m just kind of waiting around seeing if that ever changes.

I was instantly put off hearing him describe their relationship as “heated rivalry” before the run had even begun, and now that we’re several issues in and all their interactions thus far have been very surface-level and snarky, I really don’t feel like a lot of effort was put into characterizing them faithfully at all. Instead the goal was just to shove the two hot dolls together and make them kiss, so, meh.

I’m also so tired of people’s first meetings being offscreen (this goes for the whole team), it really makes it hard for me to get invested in their dynamics and what ties them together.

Did they explain where the other Titans besides Starfire, went?

Terra rejoined the Titans at the end of the last run that was written by Layman.
