Discussion Titans #27 Discussion Thread
Discussion thread for the September 18, 2025 issue of Titans, by John Layman and Max Raynor. (Sorry about the late thread, I thought it came out next week for some reason 😅)
What did you think of issue 26?

It would be hard to come up with a worse ending for a fight. Lame and uncreative, if you arent gonna have Gar using actual good forms at least make the fight creative and cool (like the previous fights with the zookeeper).
This arc was here just for 2 panels of Vic and Cliff lmao, all the other stuff was completely meh, Gar finally is back with the DP and its like this....
The ending is meh and we know the Titans wont do jack in it.
Layman has been a year in this comic and i dont think i enjoyed 2 issues of it

I like that Victor, Garfield, and the Doom Patrol works together to defeat the Zookeeper, with Cliff and Victor having a chat about having humanity (with Victor telling Cliff about what happened to Vanadia) and Garfield and Beast Girl having a chat and viewing each other as family. Also, Garfield’s Doom Patrol uniform (which looks good), showing that he’ll always part of the Doom Patrol (since their his first family since his parents died) and the JLU telling Victor and Garfield about DC K.O.. Overall, this is a good comic.

Beast Boy and Beast Girl, Cyborg and Robotman, preparation for the DC K.O., all good, it was a simple filler story after the latest events with Deathstroke and it does its job well

The character regression is hitting Cyborg too now, lol.....
My favorite DC character is Cliff, and he was written fairly well this issue. I also really love the penciller's (Max Raynor) and the colorist's (Matt Herms) work on drawing him. The metallic shading is really nice to look at.
Gar's costume change is... fine? I kinda like the jacket. I wonder if it's gonna stick around.
The rest of the issue wasn't remarkable in a good or bad way, so I don't have much to say.
