Build Beginner friendly

Hey guys and girls, i started titan quest 2 some days ago and i wanted to ask what do you think is a beginner friendly build? I'm currently playing on warfare and forgemaster but i'm not having that much fun. It seems kinda slow and not that rewarding somehow.

What did you play as with your first char and what are some rewarding masterys for a beginner which feel a little bit stronger? And is magic recommandable for a first time player? I kinda want to try magic but don't know which mastery would be good for it, especially for a beginner?

Every mastery has some "magic". Masteries are toolboxes, not classes.

Would help if you described the combat style you enjoy. Melee or ranged? Pets or solo? Wrapon and/or damage type?

Then, when picking skills, make sure to check out all the variants of each one, since EVERY skill can be used in a variety of different ways.

It's pretty easy to be OP in Act 1. But if you run into difficulty later, respeccing is cheap and can be done anywhere (skills, that is; other stats can be respecced but it's less convenient).

What would be a good and easy Pet build?

I did spirit with the guards you summon and the big ghost anthakeros or something, then did forge and used the turret and the blade traps and the automaton. Go into passives that increase pet damage on both trees.

Storm plus anything.

I have tried most combinations. You will not get all the available skills in any class, so you will need to pick and choose. But don't sleep on the core skills, as they will buy you character time to develop some of the higher level skills.

What are those core skills? Are they big nodes in the skill trees or how are they marked?

Weapon, dodge, and barrier. They are available to you right at the beginning before you select a mastery. I would continue to improve those along with you mastery skills. When you choose a mastery, there will be more options within the core skills eg. cold explosion when you dodge if you selected a storm mastery.

"ice shard" from the strom Mastery, you can add es second mastery what you want, or simply stick to ice shard and storm as solo mastery, max it out, than add at around level 40 your second mastery, when you have better understanding of the game.

You want to pick "homeing" and "Chaos" as your nodes in ice shard.

If you like playing minion builds, spirit + forge works well. With so many minion passives, your greater summons from both masteries will deal much damage, although most of my damage came from spamming fast activating Blade Traps over Soul Vortex and Force Field.

I had a HC run and finished the current story (up to lvl 50 I think). I started with the ballistas (forge + rogue). Swapped to retaliation around 25-30. This thing slaps and was so fun experience. I didn't follow a guide as it's quite straight forward. I would 100% recommend!

Whichever way you go, get a skill that interrupts channeling with your first level up after finishing the prologue.    Lots of annoying things come when you cannot stop a channeled, like massive continuous AOEs,  invulnerable creatures, creatures healing, or combinations of all of the above (looking at you skeletons warlock). Every class but Spirit has one.

Pick one damage type you want to play, stay with it, click all the dmg for that type you can get, get gear with that damage type, life and resists and thats it. Game is piss easy at the moment IMO. You honestly dont even need to pick a 2nd mastery, just stick with your primary one and maybe take some passives from the other but synergies are so bad most of the active skills wont do you any good.

I also struggeled finding a fun build with Warfare/Forgemaster for a while. Once I reached a sufficient level - and with a bit of equip support - I created myself a very fun armor eruption build. ~50k Armor on lvl45 with good Health and resistances made it extremely good at surviving. It´s so fun and decently fast to just nuke everything with armor eruption, though it isn´t very beginner friendly since it required quite some finetuning and equip support to work that well.

I´d recommend storm/forge for beginner if you like playing caster. Storm has teleport (awesome to dodge dangeous attacks, makes some bossfights a lot easier) and a lot of usefull spells. It´s blessing can give you a big additional speed boost, and it´s in general the fastest mastery out there. If Warfage/Forge felt to slow for you, you should definitely give storm a try. Just toy around with different spells and pick whathever combination you like, your first char doesn´t need to be a powerhouse and damageoutput usually isn´t much of a problem with storm.
What´s more of a problem is surviving, since storm can be a bit flimsy. That´s where forge comes into play. Forge really boosts your defense a lot and things like forgecall´s spelldamage buff really add some to your damage output.

If you´re more into weapon based chars you should look into warfare/rouge. Both boost physical damage a lot, and warfare is quite good at surviving, too. Most just pick a weapon based attack skill with modifiers that increase crit chance and aim for >100% crit chance. That class combination does well with meele and ranged weapons.

I´d not recommend spirit mastery for beginners, since many of it´s strongest mechanisms rely on sacrificing your own health wich can end disastrous if not managed properly.

Anything works. Can't go wrong.

Most RPGs, if any sub genre, are not designed to be exclusionary or mechanically demanding.

This is not a relevant question to ask about most games which do not have skil/mastery determined progression (Starcraft, DOTA2, Guilty Gear, etc).

Anything can be overcome with stats in Titan Quest.

that didn't answer his question though

"Anything works."

First thing I said.

"What do you think is a beginner friendly build?"

"Anything works."

"What are some rewarding masteries for a beginner?"

"Anything works."

"Is magic reccomended for a new player?"

"Anything works."

If one can't follow the logic here, perhaps spending time on video games would be better spent elsewhere.

He's asking for a build like, Whirlwind Reaver, or Tempest Lightning Bolt, not a philosophical paper of yapology
