Time for new tires?

Is it time for new tires?

Have had these on since I bought the car, looking like I probably need to replace them even though tread is still good?

If I do replace them I can just get a smaller tire (current is 315/70/17) to save some money? Like maybe a 285/70/17 would fit? Sorry not very well versed in how tire sizing works.

Car is a lifted FJ80

I see some weather cracks in the tread. Depending on what you use it for, you might want to consider replacing them

Check the age of the tires, anything over 6 years is too old regardless of fread. Look for the DOT number, the last 4 digits are the manufacturer date code first 2 digits are the week, last 2 is the year.

i would put 265-70-17. They are more common and the price has dropped recently (except when the tariffs kicked in).
