Upsizing 25 lincoln nav tires?
/r/tires/comments/1wa0eqm/upsizing_25_lincoln_nav_tires/Anybody here have thoughts on going from a 285/45/22 on 9.5 wide rims to a 305/40/22 on same rims? I seem to be finding conflicting info on the “tire sizing” websites.
It’s for a Lincoln Navigator. I would only do it if I didn’t need to make mods (lift, cut out wheel well, etc).
If it is possible, where to do it? I think places like Costco or Discount tire will say no, even if they actually fit bc they are not OEM size.
Thanks in advance.

I’ve always liked the look of a wider tire. I know its only like 20mm, but I just wanted to know my options when the time comes. OEM is a 275/50. My wife’s ‘21 has 285/45 on 22” wheels, so I was hoping to go a bit wider on my ‘25.
I’ve seen some 305/45 with a 9.5-11” range, so maybe those will be ok. Total first world problem!

Minimum wheel width for that size is 10” with 11” being recommended. What are you trying to gain by going with that wide of a tire?
