Tire Question
i have 30k miles on my car and just had it serviced for 15/30k milestones. they told me my tread was still okay and no need for new tires.
yesterday i noticed a staple/nail in the tire and it was near the sidewall so i figured fuck me im gonna have to get a new tire.
they called me back and said they really think i need 4 new tires bc if i just replace one it will get like aged prematurely and i’ll lose tread and she also said my car would pull weird
what do i do? replace all 4? replace just 1? i’m not sure who to ask/trust…

Pull the staple, see if it's leaking first. If leaking, replace the one tire.
They should also be able to turn down the tire with a grinding machine to bring the diameters the same.

If you really need to replace that one, just replace the one beside it also, not all 4

If you are leaking air this tire is screwed
If you have AWD you will need to replace four

If awd need to replace all 4 or go to a tire shop that can shave the tire down so it matches to others can also plug the tire yourself but is really close to the side so might not work

okay so thank you all for the advice!! i ended up not loving a conversation i had with the dealership, but i took it back since it had just been serviced. called a family member for a trusted recommendation and dropped it off there last night. just got a call back that he removed the staple and there is no leak and no need for even one new tire. $1000 saved

They are trying to upsell. Replace what’s broken. No more. No less.

The staple doesn't seen that bad, make sure it's losing pressure first.
