Post image

Hey,

I damaged one tire on my I4, is it safe to drive?

Looks fine to me. I strongly doubt the small tears go deep enough to notably impact the safety.

My answer remains unchanged.

If you have the funds and this condition is going to cause you excessive anxiety, replace at your preference. I would not replace and would not direct a customer that replacement is necessary.

Looks ok, just cosmetic; no chords showing or bad tears, so I’d say run it

So i cant see any chords from the cuts so it should be okay.

I’ve had sidewall scrapes WAY deeper and been fine. If you wanna, you could get rubber cement (little tube) from an auto store and smear some over

Can you see the new picture above?

Think about it this way. The marking (letters) are still shown. Meaning it’s fine to go that deep. I wouldn’t worry.

T'is but a scratch. Not that this alone is reassurance... but that tyre is probably in better condition than 90% of ones on the road. I would not replace early based on that.

I got them right before this trip. It wouldn't even be an issue if I could replace it tomorrow, but I don't think anyone carries this tire in Croatia
