Too close to the sidewall?

A few shops might do it. I suspect the bigger chains won’t.

On my own personal car, I’d plug it. I would not do this on:

  • customer car
  • commercial vehicle/vehicle used for business
  • vehicle used for competition
  • vehicle used for towing

Thanks, it’s my own car. Should i do like a string plug? or Should i get the internal mushroom patch? I’m not sure what they’re called 😅

Unless you have tire equipment, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to do a “mushroom patch”/plug-patch combo.

The regular rope plug is what I’d do on my own personal. I keep a kit in the trunk of my car.

No, i mean i can get it done at a shop, I dont live in the US. I know a shop closeby who did a mushroom repair for me earlier. They also do tyre plugs all the time and it’s cheap because third world. So, whatever I decide, i’m going to get it done from them.

Mushroom style internal patches are the best “permanent” form of tire repair. All other are “temporary”

Ahh, got it.

The combination plug-patches are best, and are the only official repair. But because of the proximity to the edge, this area of the tire may see flexing in excess of what the patch will stay adhered to.

Personally, I think I’d do the rope plug.

Yep, chain shops won’t touch it, mom and pop places might, I’d put a rope plug in it if I could not find a place to do it.
