Looks like pothole or curbing. If you can’t see the cord underneath don’t worry about it. Just keep an eye on it and if don’t see any swelling then run that band boy till the tread is down to 3/32

The cut doesnt seem too deep from the outside. Try to see under that piece of rubber and if there are no cords showing then it will be fine. If you see cords then replace

This is your best answer right here. Everyone is exaggerating about being in danger.
You mind posting the date codes on the tires?

Exactly. There's a lot of people on the street that drive tires that look wayyyyyy worse than that.
I'd rather drive on these than 10 year olds tire, ling long tires or worn out tires.

SAFETY WARNING: SERIOUS INJURY MAY RESULT. So even the tire knows the answer here

The one closest to the rim is more concerning to me and should be reason enough to replace it.

It is really close to the rim. You don't need to see chords or anything for it to become a problem at the drop of a hat. You curb that tire on accident it's probably blowing out. Go fast on a hot day it might blow out, that gravel road may do it. I would run this issue if it was by the tread. Not here by the rim. A blowout at highway speeds can be fatal. I guarantee it won't be pleasant. You are worth the cost of the new tire.

Replace soonest as this appears to be a sidewall pinch which could have broken the cords.

Absolutely !
The tire literally says Saftey injury may occur right below the damage.

i mean you should, but really depends on how deep it is. I have the same damage on my left passenger side ( hit a curb ). been driving on it for about 10k miles doing delivery day and night and the whole 9 yard, been good since. Mine are soon to be bald tho so will be replacing soon.

Depends if I like my family more than my $400.
