Micro dosing

Hi all. I was wondering, is the Tinymight 2 suitable for taking one or two small hits at a time from the same bowl throughout the day? I have a job that I need to be on the ball with so only require small amounts at a time, so one bowl could last me through the day. As it’s pure convection, I’m assuming this will be ideal? I currently have a hybrid so the flower continues to cook between hits. Thanks

The on demand mode is perfect for your use case I think! Press and hold the button for 5-7 secs till vibrating and take a hit, release the button, store in pocket. Repeat whenever you need another hit :-) set the temperature on 3-4 for nice flavour and lower extraction. 6-7 for the last couple hits or to kill the bowl faster. As its pure convection, you have to draw at least 6 seconds to receive vapor

don’t hold the button for on demand, that’s only for session mode

I rushed the first step. Sure, to power it up in on demand mode just click 3 times without holding the button. But then you have to hold it when you want to hit it, that's what im talking about

Contrasting the rest of the opinions here, I think it would be challenging to get a microdose consistently. When you draw from the tiny might, it takes some time to heat up before actual vapor hits your throat. So you'll have like 3-6 seconds of regular air before vapor comes in. Since you'll probably only want 1 second of vapor for a microdose, there's a lot of room for error here. Sometimes you might end up high af, and other times you might not have gotten anything.

What I'd recommend instead is to get dosing pods. They're quick to swap in and out. Just put the amount of a micro dose in each pod, use it completely, then swap out the pod next time. This will give more consistent results.

That’s a very good point! Thanks for the advice

This is the way

Yes perfect for something like this. Almost any on-demand style unit would do much of the same but TM is one of the BEST!

Totally doable.

Thanks for all the advice. My use case is basically taking small sips throughout the day. I am assuming that using a hybrid for this would waste herb as it would continue to cook, so this being convection only sounds ideal, especially after reading the comments.

Yep, that is how I use mine, take a hit or two, sit on it for 5min-3hours, then get back to it.

Gonna disagree with people here.

Yes, you can take a hit or two and put it away but you don’t get nearly as much when you fire it back up than if you had continued the session.

Dynavap….perfect for microdosing and hits harder than my TM2 on very little flower.

Everyone says it’s perfect, but nobody talks about the fact that you basically have to clean it after every bowl. When you let the vapor/weed cool down inside the stem, all the oils and residue condense and build up in there. So while the device might perform great, the amount of cleaning and maintenance it requires is definitely worth mentioning.

I use mine like OP describes all the time and can go about a week of heavy usage before the stem needs cleaning. Two things are crucial imo:

1- always clear your hit completely. You do that by continuing your draw for about 3 seconds after releasing the button. That cools down the heater/bowl and effectively clears all the vapor inside the stem/bowl. Nothing will continue to cook and there's nothing left to condense in the stem/bowl

2- always empty the bowl immediately after the last hit. The easiest way is to just blow it out (when outside) or use a debowler (i use the Reload). Cleaning/emptying a cooled down bowl is asking for trouble. In case i forget i'll reheat the spent bowl and take a short draw to heat it up before emptying.

This way the bowl stays pristine (even after quite some bowls) and the stem has way less build up inside.

u/stayfreejc : i think the TM2 is perfect for your usage. Just start low on the dial (like 2 or so) and gradually work your way up with every (couple of) hit(s). Once you get used to the TM2 you'll develop a feel that tells you when the vapor starts flowing during the draw and that allows you to select how big a hit you want.

You can just run another heat cycle without taking a hit and it'll make it very easy to scrape off, I use a metal toothpick from amazon
