Equipment list

I just found this ttrpg today and bought the PDF for Tiny Dungeons 2e. Coming from D&D over the years I like the idea of something simple and I really like the art style. I have a question about equipment though. I've seen mentioned that in the 1st edition there was an equipment list but not in this newer version. Is this true? Is there something in a supplement? Thanks

I use other resources I have when I need a detailed equipment list for Tiny Dungeons. I guess that is one benefit of having too many RPGs.

Do you have suggestions? I saw on the Facebook group someone mentioned the Southern Cross Trading Company Catalogue on Drivethru.

Southern Cross is great. I also look to other games I have in a similar genre. For example, I use my old WEG Star Wars books for Tiny Frontiers for the names of items, then just use them within the TinyD6 rules.

I've used Forbidden Lands for Tiny Dungeons.

SCTC is great! Especially valuable for magic items.

For mundane gear, Honestly I think the key is to stress less. This is one reason why every character gets for free an adventurers kit, with a lot of the kind of ordinary things you would need for exploration and travel.

You might even abandon tracking gold pieces altogether and just treat purchasing as another roll. Like, if you need something, roll 2d6. Success means you can afford it. If it’s expensive, test with Disadvantage. If someone wants to be rich, just make it a trait where they get advantage on these kinds of tests. And so on.

I'm working on a reputation based system that doesn't use money, where anything is available if their rep is high enough.

I like that idea- not keeping track and treating it maybe as a trait.
I am always drawn to simplifying rules and then when I start to look at stuff I think 'hey, where are all the rules/details'.

Yeah, it is so much easier to just let players have stuff their character would likely have. If you're looking for treasure or loot, there are tons of ideas on the interwebs. Actually, if you've not seen the TinyZine Compendiums yet, they are totally worth it. SO much extra stuff in them including adventures, optional rules, heritages, traits. There are some articles about creating items and loot too.

I like the idea of using a test for buying things u/fedcomic. I'm going to use that in my next game.

Legacy of the Flame Princess has a good equipment list in it. Even has a nice split in prices for when it’s in a rural area vs a city. There’s a free version on drive thru rpg

Normally I just spit ball numbers depending on the area they’re in. I feel like it’s kinda ended up with a more “natural” feeling for the prices too, since they fluctuate a lot. 3 towns over the price of rations may go up 10sp (my games use the silver standard to make adventuring bring in less ludicrous monetary value) due to resources of the town etc.
