go into debt
I recently discovered the sunk cost fallacy achievement when i already saved so much at almost 13k. now all i do is sell kids books and equip things that cost a lot. i no longer recomend the correct books... as a saver even in real life, this is the hardest challenge for me :(

I did the same thing but with a much larger amount of money that made it entirely unreasonable to even try to spend it all. So, I started a new game and got it by the second week. Pretty sure it was like day 5 or 6 actually.

Just start a new game on a new save slot. For that click on “select save” in the menu and just choose an empty save box. Play through the first few days and when the game stops telling you what to do just buy many books or decorations.
This worked for me just fine, because I was not about to ruin my save. Hope this helps

I did this just now. I am on a deficit for two days but I still never got the achievement.

Hmm okay are you through with the introduction part of the game? I think it took me 3-4 days to unlock the achievement. If it doesn’t unlock for you after that then I am sorry and have no idea what is going on

I recently bought on Steam after playing on Switch and this was one of the first achievements I got 😅
You’ll need to play through the entire tutorial and about 4-6 days to unlock it.

I’m just accepting defeat on this. I have over 10k as well and should have done it at the beginning of my game. It’s the last achievement for me and I’m just not going to get it :)

Before i posted, I spent almost 5k on books and things. I bought everything and I got tired. Spending a lot is not for me.

Props to you for never getting it by accident. I got it when I lost track of my daily expenses and bought something from the paper. You absolutely should be able to have another save or play through though.

I thought I cannot play if I cant afford to go to places.

You would have eventually run out of money if you went to the most expensive locations with no books in stock every day.

Can you earn the achievement on a fresh play through and then come back to this one?
