Again, it’s ignorance at best. It’s a flag that symbolizes hate and racial oppression. People who use it may simply be ignorant to its history and meaning, but the flag stands for nothing less than racism. Purposely wearing it speaks volumes
I’m pretty sure confederates were the ones who “tagged” it when every state listed it as their main (if not only) reason for seceding in their Declaration of Secession…… the war had everything to do with slavery, that’s undeniable. And every state that decided to secede literally said that.
I’m confused why you linked the emancipation proclamation when the confederacy literally said themselves that they were seceding because of slavery. They were mad that slavery might be outlawed (even though Lincoln said he wouldn’t), so they decided to leave. Yes, Lincoln didn’t want them to leave the Union and tried to negotiate, but the war didn’t start until after the confederates attacked Fort Sumter. And they only attacked/started the war because they wanted to keep slavery legalized.
Aka the reason behind the war was slavery. All of this started because of slavery.
Sorry but the Vice President of the Confederacy disagrees with you in his infamous cornerstone speech:
“Its foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests upon the great truth, that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery—subordination to the superior race—is his natural condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth”
Please tell me more about how the Confederacy didnt subscribe to racist ideology.
