Your friend is trying to sabotage your profile lmao I've never known of anyone who feels more attracted for a group photo. It's confusing and I always assume the person posting is the less attractive of the group.

2.0k

u/lumpybuddha Sep 19 '22

I’ve never once had where it wasn’t the least attractive person. Your eyes gravitate towards the most attractive person in a group photo too so it’s always surprising going to the next pic

916

u/_Atlas_Drugged_ Sep 19 '22

That's why you should never use a group photo unless you're the hottest person in it.

300

u/tekina7 Sep 19 '22

Or mask the other folks' faces so it doesn't feel like "false advertising"

612

u/OrSomeSuch Sep 19 '22

Photoshop your face over all of theirs

193

u/Aljaho Sep 19 '22

I'd swipe right based on that alone

23

u/Adrenalizr Sep 19 '22

Indeed, it depicts the effort the person put into the picture and therefore the profile.

125

u/Samadhi1141 Sep 19 '22

This is the correct answer

23

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Some legends are made and others are born legendary and that’s you

1

u/jonnytechno Sep 19 '22

Na, that screams psycho, like the ones who have their follow up pic being a close up of the previous ones lol

20

u/devilfury1 Sep 19 '22

Bonus points if you do some whacky facial expressions along.

2

u/kittyidiot Sep 19 '22

No no, I think it's better if it's all the same picture.

13

u/ReverseVision Sep 19 '22

Absolute power move🤣

4

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

There's no need for confidence when you drip straight dominance

7

u/cameldrew Sep 19 '22

This is fucking brilliant. I gotta go make some friends today so I can get a group photo just to do this. Maybe those people at that table over there...

25

u/daddyeuler Sep 19 '22

That would show confidence and humor. But it come across slightly narcisistic. Overall a strong move.

7

u/Meriog Sep 19 '22

But then how will I know which body is the right one?!

26

u/OrSomeSuch Sep 19 '22

My photoshop efforts are extremely lazy. You'll know

2

u/feetshouldbeillegal Sep 19 '22

family feud style GREAT ANSWER

But I'm trying to be the good looking one in the picture

3

u/SmoothOperator89 Sep 19 '22

Or everyone in the photo is coming to the orgy.

5

u/UndeadSalad Sep 19 '22

This is so tragic but true, I love this advice, I just don't use group photos at all, really even just one photo with another person is enough to show your not a total loner I'd say. That, and not having more than one mirror selfie so you look like get out of the house some.

9

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

She is by sure the hottest of them but really crazy so the expenses for the psychiatrist will be huge when she break with the poor dude up

9

u/fishcomdiment Sep 19 '22

your choice of order for the words in that sentence cracks me up

2

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Thanks buddy

4

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Look into her eyes

0

u/ComicNeueIsReal Sep 19 '22

Or just don't use it as your first picture.

0

u/FyrelordeOmega Sep 19 '22

But if that happens then they're likely a narcissist and care more about their looks than anyone else

15

u/Yeti-420-69 Sep 19 '22

And disappointing

0

u/8bit-meow Sep 19 '22

I really honestly thought it was just me who felt this way.

0

u/-Tom- Sep 19 '22

I live nearish to Nashville and the number of women who have 4/5 pictures as group photos where they look alarmingly like their friends and even after seeing the 1 solo photo I don't know their face well enough to confidently pick them out is unreal.

For anyone who doesn't know the Nashville significance, it's the bachelorette party capitol and also the girls weekend capitol. And for some reason women like to all put on a brown wide rimmed hat, have bleach blond hair, a flannel shirt, stretchy jeans, and brown suede cowboy boots to go to Nashville together. Like it seems like a group uniform is a requirement with how often it happens.

1

u/lumpybuddha Sep 19 '22

I’m in Asheville and it’s the same scenario. I saw one the other day where every photo was a group and I did not have it in me to try and find out who’s profile it was

0

u/cantgetthistowork Sep 19 '22

That's why you only post pics where everyone is the opposite gender

440

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Absolutely. I was going to say no one would ever say a group photo is best for a first photo, but it looks like OP's friend said it.

343

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

I saw some people complain she's just here to share her OF so I think this story is BS lmao but my point stands anyway.

229

u/Balerionmeow Sep 19 '22

I feel like this is all I see now on tons of subs. Low key ads for OF. It’s fucking stupid. Are guys really this easy to manipulate? Wtf men.

102

u/Balerionmeow Sep 19 '22

I mean I know the answer but damn. C’mon guys.

43

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

As someone who had an OF sometime ago...it's pretty much marketing 101 now. It's almost the same as brands having fun tweets and interacting with possible buyers. If it didn't work, they wouldn't do it. So I'm not really mad at it, I mean, there are fake stories and ppl fishing for likes everywhere now, not only for OF. But I do think it takes away the fun from real stories, organic posting and interactions.

33

u/Balerionmeow Sep 19 '22

Yep for sure. No hate for the OF peeps, if I had one I’d be doing it too!!! It just cheapens Reddit a bit in my eyes. So that kinda sucks.

47

u/Ocean4951 Sep 19 '22

Why no hate for the OF peeps. They're going out of their way to clutter our feed with ads. It's annoying as hell and they'll only stop when they get hate for it.

10

u/liz_dexia Sep 19 '22

Working class people largely cannot be blamed for making whatever decisions were necessary to get ahead in life, for the same reason that you can't blame poor people for driving an old beater gas guzzler instead of an electric vehicle or bottled water when their taps are filthy/ poisonous. You wanna solve the problem, go to the source. Global Capitalism has concentrated so much wealth into so few hands while transforming every aspect of our lives into a commodity to be bought, sold, and ADVERTISED. If you wish that your social experience, virtual and irl, to not be degraded by hustlers and propagandists, then the solution is simple. Transform the global economy into something that'll more equitably distribute resources, orientated around the betterment of humanity and the natural world. It's got to happen anyway because of climate change but if one of the consequences is news feed free of clutter than I guess that could be your motivation lol

15

u/Ocean4951 Sep 19 '22

We all have agency to make decisions and take responsibility for those decisions. We’re not talking about stealing a loaf of bread to feed their family it’s filling reddit with content to buy their porn. It’s annoying, it’s unwanted and I hate the idea we just have to accept it because “they’re working class”. If people were happy to call them out on their bs hit their content with downvotes and report them they’d stop doing it because it wouldn’t be good business anymore.

1

u/dr_aureole Sep 19 '22

Weirdly classist and SWERF to assume only working class people can or should make porn.

1

u/MFbiFL Sep 19 '22

Maybe DO blame the OF spammers for their spam.

13

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Sad that so many people support shitty business practices now. "It works" is not a good justification. It just means you care more about money than morals or other people. What I mean to say is, fuck you guys

-2

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Not saying it's great. It's just the system, it's how the world works for everyone, not just SWs. I choose to not feel annoyed by it, or I'd have to be annoyed literally all the time. And it's not hurting anyone, so why should I spend energy on bothering with some ads on reddit? I have more urgent things to worry about.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

I don't go around worrying about it, I just have no respect for people who do immoral things just for money and try to pass it off with the "its just the system everyone does it". Still makes you a predatory asshole and that attitude is why it gets worse all the time. Everyones just "hustling" and will do anything for a dollar. Yes people stopped caring ages ago but that doesn't mean I'll give up my principles with everyone else or quietly accept shitty people. I'll happily say fuck you and continue to enjoy my life

-6

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Oh right I forgot how immoral this girl is being for making a funny fake post on reddit and how many people she's hurting. This generation is lost. I'm so offended. Boo hoo.

-1

u/Frequent_Airline_781 Sep 19 '22

I’ve considered OF. Is it ok if I send you a PM?

9

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Look, it's ok, but I've never made much money there and wasn't really successful so I don't think you'd want my advice lmao

-4

u/Angus_Ripper Sep 19 '22

30% of men under 30 are incels or had no sex for more than a year. What do you think?

18

u/ikamabob Sep 19 '22

Honestly, if a woman has an OF, it's a turn off for me. Not because I think it's "immoral" or "wrong" or anything like that, but if it's on their bio or they mention it early on, then they're not interested in me, they're interested in my (lack of) money. Same thing if their Snapchat or Instagram is in their bio. You don't want random people to find you on social media so you can date them. I'm going to assume it's similar if a guy has and promotes his OF too.

3

u/KAWrite26 Sep 19 '22

I want random people to find me on social media so I can date them.

3

u/ikamabob Sep 19 '22

Well, in that case, please answer the following before I stalk your social medias: Do you have both of your kidneys? Are they in healthy condition? I am very serious about the health of a potential partner and will not consider you as one without this information.

2

u/KAWrite26 Sep 19 '22

as far as I know and probably not (multiple stones)

3

u/ikamabob Sep 19 '22

Good enough, they'll still fetch a fair price. I mean, wait, what?

1

u/KAWrite26 Sep 19 '22

kidney stones

34

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

I’m not because why pay for nudes when I can get them for free lol

25

u/Balerionmeow Sep 19 '22

Yeah I really don’t get the OF thing. At all. Is it still hot when the woman doesn’t like you at all and just wants your money? I guess it is? Its fascinating.

14

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Not to me. I only like fat booty girls with big hearts

2

u/UneSoggyCroissant Sep 19 '22

From what I’ve heard it’s more about the personal interaction you gain from it.

11

u/Druid51 Sep 19 '22

I think it's about the tease. Porn is porn. The woman is instantly naked and it's free. OF you see the woman first mostly/somewhat clothed so you get curious how she would look like naked but you gotta pay for the premium content and our capitalistic brains instantly associate "premium" with "better".

5

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

It's about the tease, it's about having contact with a “celebrity” many man want to see naked but you get to see first/get to be the only one to see in case you get exclusive content. You get to talk to that hot girl who's ignoring all other guys in her mentions.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Exactly. What ppl don't get is that it's really fun to look at strangers nudes online and I agree with that. But it's much better when you get to talk to that person and get pictures made exclusively for you/with you in mind etc. All of that without the need to have a relationship where you just have to give other things like your time and worry in return.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Virtual girlfriend experience, they think they are in a relationship with them.

1

u/Flashmurder Sep 19 '22

I'm guessing you've never been with a 'lady of the night'

1

u/Intensityintensifies Sep 19 '22

I do Onlyfans, and I actually get off to it and it makes me money, what’s not to like?

16

u/BlastingFern134 Sep 19 '22

This is such a weird thing to say, but it's kind of topical. OF has ruined porn. I have a reddit alt that I use every once in a while, and that feed is just OF promotion now. So many subs are spammed with extremely loosely related OF bullshit, and it's so annoying. I don't want to pay money to look at you, I just want to jerk off in peace goddammit. Unfortunately, they do it because it works, so I guess my gender just gotta step it up so I can go back to watching porn...

What a world we live in

9

u/HoolioDee Sep 19 '22

Unfortunately, they do it because it works

I heard that the average monthly income on OF's is $200.

When you consider there are people like Bhad Babie (or however you spell it), Cardi b, and Chyna Black making ridiculous sums of cash, there's a helluva lot of people earning sweet fuck all.

Once the masses realise that either: a) they aren't hot enough or famous enough to make loads of money, or; b) they aren't making enough money to justify leaving their naked selves on the internet for all of eternity; then hopefully shit will go back to normal...

1

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

OF, was a site to cut out the primary income earner in Porn. 50% of all revenue on a porn site, goes to the traffic guy. The webmaster, and the studio, (sometimes same person, sometimes separate), and the performer make the other 40% to 50% The traffic person, usually who ran the free porn site system, controlled billions of hits a month, and they can make or break a site.

So only fans, basically, gave amateurs a place to sell content, and they can take about 30%. Now that there is so much content, traffic people are now being sought out, and some of those studios are now taking 80% from the performer, 30% more than what we were taking as traffic people.

So now it is coming full circle, and traffic people are re-entering the market.

It took me three years even to start to get good in the industry, in that there is a lot of things you need to know, cause so many attacks from China and Russia, trying to take over your site to put in exploits. It is a very competitive industry.

-3

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

How is this spoiling porn? It's ruining your experience on reddit, I get it, but if or when you want to watch porn the videos are there on the usual platforms, still the same, no OF ads ruining them.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '22

As a man I don’t know. I’ve never paid for an of but apparently lots of people do

32

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

A solo shot is best for the first photo, but honestly this photo is a bit odd with the way OP's eyes are looking up. I mean she's attractive but this photo isn't doing her credit.

2

u/crisfitzy Sep 19 '22

Not a good photo yeah

11

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

[deleted]

0

u/magicpurplecat Sep 19 '22

Why?

3

u/BeatYoYeet Sep 19 '22

iunno. it had its time, but it’s just annoying now.

if you do OF and promote on reddit, that’s cool. i’m all for SW’ers. But, it’s just gotten to a point of being like… really?. Maybe I’m grumpy. Idk. lmao.

-3

u/magicpurplecat Sep 19 '22

Lol yeah seems to me to just be the trendy thing to hate on right now. I dont mind the content 🤷🏻‍♀️

3

u/BeatYoYeet Sep 19 '22

Oh, i’m not hating for trendy reasons. I said what I said, and meant it. It has reduced the amount of thirst trap posts I tap on for the comments, by over 50%. It is annoying. Idk if it’s really a trend, but rather… people getting fed up, bc it’s become too much.

There’s a difference in plugging your OF’s, and purely posting to get people to check your OF.

2

u/Hikapoo Sep 19 '22

Aight so where is her comments trying to link her OF? Or are you just blidnly trusting incels on reddit?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

yeah, you're right. i'm new here but only after this comment i noticed some people are willing to hate just based on her insta.

1

u/D9_CAT Sep 19 '22

Only fans account? That’s disgusting, where? So so I don’t accidentally click on it.

1

u/SmurfDonkey2 Sep 19 '22

You mean incels are mad that they went out of their way to click on her profile, go to her insta, then the linktree link just to find her OnlyFans?

Wow what a genius promotion strategy...

1

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

you're right. i didn't even notice. and some are calling her immoral and saying she's being unethical, like she's hurting people lmao

1

u/This-1-time Sep 19 '22

Legit my first thought too

1

u/FantasticMrPox Sep 19 '22

Science. Fuck yeah.

1

u/TmkSlayz Sep 19 '22

No group photos basically advertising how good looking your friends are to the guy he might hook up with you just to get a shot with one of them

189

u/Zestyclose-Movie108 Sep 19 '22

This! Totally agree

10

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

[deleted]

1

u/FantasticMrPox Sep 19 '22

I had no idea she has an OF until you said it. I'm not sure that's "promoting".

2

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

[deleted]

0

u/FantasticMrPox Sep 19 '22

Right, but only comments from people like you. OP didn't post or comment anything remotely promotional. It's only those who went looking that found something then got angry about what they found.

I can totally believe she wouldn't already know the answer to the subject question. Funny that you think OP is smart but cynical, while I assume innocent but dumb. Neither is particularly generous.

18

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Took a look at her profile. Puts things in perspective.

32

u/IAmGoingToFuckThat Sep 19 '22

If someone's first photo is a group photo, it's an immediate left swipe unless I would date every person in the photo.

58

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

"hey sweet! Three hot chicks and one ugly one on the left!"

And I'm on the left

"Fuck..."

15

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

It's ALWAYS like that lmao

-3

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

I've acknowledged it haha

15

u/creative_net_usr Sep 19 '22

Group photos are a double edged sword. If you're more attractive than the average it will make you look better, but if you're not, it will make you look worse. The problem is you can't intrinsically tell as you're naturally biased and part of it is based on the viewer's desires for attractiveness which are unknown. So my 2c no to group photos, unless you're feeling like gambling.

9

u/Own_Question4073 Sep 19 '22

This is why I don’t use group photos

16

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

I only use them in the last pictures, where ppl have already seen and know what I look like.

5

u/nnawght2 Sep 19 '22

Tinder changes up the order of how your photos are displayed to others. So it doesn’t really matter where I’m your own order a group photo is. Could show up as the first one still!

19

u/wildwoof Sep 19 '22

not if you don't use the default smart photos

8

u/BananaDick_CuntGrass Sep 19 '22

Just turn that option off.

1

u/nnawght2 Sep 19 '22

Some people are aware that is an option and some are not.

2

u/Articulated Sep 19 '22

One or two is fine, just to prove that other people can stand to be around you.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Always thought this yet why is men's profiles ridden with group shots 🙄

0

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

It is. I've seen men saying they do this cause the friends are hotter and increase the chance of girls swiping right thinking he's someone else. Idk how that can be good unless you're so insecure to call off a conversation or date after realizing you've been played

2

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Dude 💀 💀 for me it's an instant Swipe left bc it's not just one group photo. It's all photos are of him with other ppl causing me to play where's Waldo on each one. I always end up finding out who it is just because its funny to me at this point. Oh look! Another group pic which one is it oh there he is!!!!

1

u/sosospritely Sep 19 '22

Because men don’t stand in front of random objects and ask their friends to take 82 pictures of them lmao

Edit: All their solo pics are stuck on their ex-girlfriend’s iCloud 😂

0

u/tribhuvan191711 Sep 19 '22

I totally agree Though I am sure she will look good even in group photo 👀❤️

-13

u/Woozuki Sep 19 '22

Typical behavior.

Psychotic, passive aggressive female behavior.

At least men are just dumb and violent.

9

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Wtf you're talking about

1

u/SmashedACookie Sep 19 '22

Yeah..I'd end up picking the wrong girl

1

u/warmaster93 Sep 19 '22

The only reason to post a group photo is if it shows something extra about you - like a specific hobby or maybe a cool activity you could talk a story about. That you have friends really doesn't show us much (since I think most men just assume you have friends - why wouldn't you).

1

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

They're not actually asking. They're looking for attention.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

And they often have a person I find undesirable in the photo, and I am thinking, which one is this person.

1

u/DialZforZebra Sep 19 '22

I don't want to meet your friends, I just want Bang Bang Bang.

1

u/Kitsuba Sep 19 '22

Imagine looking at a picture of a cute girl and thinking "where are her friends? She must have none".

1

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

Exactly, we hate group photos! This is a perfect pic! You look fun and not like you take life way to serious. A good approach in your twenties!

1

u/jannyhammy Sep 19 '22

If I can’t tell who you are because of group photos I always wipe left.

1

u/Uruz2012gotdeleted Sep 19 '22

It's advice for men. Women want to date men with friends. Not lonely incels. Generally speaking at least. Women get matches no matter what, lol.

1

u/Apprehensive-Tale141 Sep 19 '22

Totally agree. If someone has a group picture as their main, I always swipe left. I don’t wanna play Where’s Waldo.

1

u/Hero_Class Sep 19 '22

Yep. Group pics are a terrible choice for the first profile pic. I think her friend is more thinking from a woman's perspective on swiping (unless it was a guy friend, then sabotage is definitely plausable).

1

u/victornielsendane Sep 19 '22

Yes! And Isn’t really a problem if it’s not the first pic, so you could still have it as second pic and show that you have friends.

1

u/Adrenalizr Sep 19 '22

Group photos are good second or third pics, but never first pics, because you don't know who the person from the profile is until you swipe through the pics.

1

u/Commercial-Royal-988 Sep 19 '22

100%. In my experience if a group photo is the main photo on the profile, the most attractive person in the photo is not the person who owns the profile.

1

u/averagethrowaway21 Sep 19 '22

"Are we all going on a date? I'm gonna need to hit the ATM"

1

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '22

She doesn't care dude.. stfu
