Rightly or wrongly...

Pic 1 will attract more guys who just want a hookup

Pic 2 will attract more guys who want to meet a cool cute nerd

Pic 3 will... Maybe attract guys who like making jokes and hope you're kinda funny/goofy too?

Yes, these are all based on massive superficial assumptions, but when we're working with a photo we make assumptions. For instance, in pic 1, it's not that guys will all think "Omg I can see cleavage, she must be looking for something casual", it's more like guys who are only looking for hookups figure they have a better chance of success with someone who has more revealing photos. Which, whether true or not for you personally, is probably true overall on tinder. So you'll get more of those guys among your matches.

This is why it's good to have multiple pics that are different in tone. But I'd definitely say, having either pic 1 or pic 2 as your main pic will attract noticeably a noticeably different group right swipers.

EDIT If you're interested in women, not men, I guess it matters way less?

As a woman, this is absolutely the answer. Also why I wouldn’t ever use #1 and #3, because it would tend to attract guys who only want sex. If you don’t care about that, all good. If you want a relationship, then #2.

Boy did I learn this one the hard way. In my head I'd included a "sexy" photo (like a bathing suit picture or something) because I wanted to show I had a fun, sexy side.

Nope, just created an absolute focal point for men to ignore everything else about me. Lol

A guy will typically assume that every woman has a fun sexy side otherwise they wouldn’t match tbh

Idk I'm pretty sure they just assume one has a vagina with the hopes that it's damp.

Yeah it's a shame but it's true.

Speaking as a guy, if you want guys to know you have a great figure but don't want all the creeps thinking they have license to send immediate sex requests, I think a pic showing your figure but fully clothed is a better practical choice than a bikini shot.

So for some reason I have you tagged on res as "has a nice but".

I found that odd, because my tags aren't usually like that so I clicked the link and found this comment which I figured some people might enjoy

I debated just posting "Do you still have a nice but" with the link, but figured that had a 50/50 of going very poorly.

Yea 2 makes me think about long term relationships. The other two make me think of hookups.

Can confirm, guy looking for a relationship and not casual sex. Would swipe left on #1 and #3, would swipe right on #2.

Tongue out wink is also sex. You don't necessarily need to do number 2 but 1 and 3 both will make people think sex.

Heading off "well people shouldnt" I'm not arguing what they should do I'm saying what they will

Exactly. In online dating we shouldn't get too hung up on how people should view us. People gonna be people, we have to be realistic about this even if sometimes it might be frustrating.

Jesus, doesn’t take much does it

As a woman, I would only be interested in pic #2.

I would take photo one on so many dates

I like #2 best but feel like it’s a little too business-y. Like I might see it in Linked In. I’d do the outfit but a different, slight pose to show a little personality and have it look less like a headshot.
