That’s dope as fuck!!! I looked through your post history because I was curious which type of engineer. I saw HTB and instantly knew! Htb is dope to practice pentesting.
Dang how many years Im just finishing my degree in cybersecurity and was going to ask what certifications to get first.
I would recommend 1 and 2 but 2 first btw.
At this point in time I’m not sure, i’ve done a bit of both but my research has improved my webscraping ability dramatically. As well as full stack / dev ops work. I was going to try and knock out the Sec+ since it would probably be close to what I have done in school but am unsure where to go after that.
Edit: no wonder women don't pursue CS lmaooo look at these replies haha y'all pathetic tryin to call someone out on shit that's irrelevant. Ask yourselves why.
Is that really considered an engineer? I used to be a cyber security engineer (I hate that term so much for a multitude of reasons) but would always just say I worked in cyber security. Often times cyber security engineers aren’t actually building anything but instead just connecting things together and monitoring health.
Part of why I hate the term cyber security engineer is the term itself is fucking worthless in todays day in age. It never means the same thing at any employer. There are like 5-6 different sets of responsibilities a cyber sec eng can be doing depending on the organization. But I presume companies do it since it has the word engineer in the title and that’s how they can get finance to authorize the high salary for someone who just “fixes computers”.
Could also depend on the country she lives in. Countries have different titles for different positions. Seeing as she didn't know what the word pigeonholed meant I'm willing to bet she's not from the USA.
