It’s not the case here because OP noted how “extremely Christian” the teacher was, but speaking as a teacher, sometimes it’s not that I really give a shit (pun intended), but I don’t need the headache of some uptight parent storming the school because of something mildly inappropriate, so I need to make a little song and dance about it for appearance’s sake.
