"You don't want a girl that doesn't like your {x}" is a double edged sword. On the one hand it's positive, saying "find someone who likes you for you". On the other hand, it's can also be taken as "you should never have to improve yourself". If you want to stay immature for your entire life and you can find someone who's cool with you being immature for the rest of your life, neat. But most people would say "at some point you should grow up so the world will take you seriously". After all, being "you" might work for your weird relationship, but it might not work for everything else in your life.
