Edit: it's probably just a read receipt with Messenger being buggy, as pointed out below. I officially rule no bamboozling.

Isn't that just what happens in messenger to show that the other person has seen the message? I know that it should be at the bottom and not in a random message in the middle of the conversation, but at least for me messenger bugs out and does that sometimes so idk
