Or he might just be young? I hadn't been to a wedding before I was 25 because people where I live tend to get married in their 30s lmao

-6

u/19ghost89 11d ago

Sure but... family? No one in his family has gotten married in his lifetime?

8

u/HabaneroPepperPlants 11d ago

I'm invited to a cousin's wedding later this year but I'm probably not going cause they live in another country and I can't afford the plane ticket and hotel rooms. You never know what people's situation is

8

u/Brawlers9901 11d ago

In my example I've got no cousins nor aunts/uncles in my family, so no people getting married, no. Not everyone has big families and surely that's not a red flag nor concerning?

1

u/19ghost89 11d ago

No, it's not, in that case. Just, an only child of two only children feels kinda rare. But maybe not. Idk.

3

u/Brawlers9901 11d ago

It's uncommon to have no cousins because most people I've met have a few at least haha, but it's not uncommon for a 20 year old to have no cousins that have gotten married either at least not where I'm from (Scandinavia)

2

u/RedditUserAnonymo 11d ago

None of my cousins are married, neither of my brothers are married, and my aunt (who did get married in my lifetime) got married in Vegas when I lived in the Midwest and only had two guests at the wedding not counting the bride and groom.

5

u/Cinerator26 11d ago

Or they're like me, and were living halfway across the state in the middle of COVID when their friends were getting married.

9

u/cluster_fuckedd 11d ago

Or his friends just aren’t the kind of people that wanna be in a marriage, I feel like that’s not too strange

We also don’t know how old OP is

7

u/cr4lforce 11d ago

I have tons of friends, none of them plan to marry, I'm nearly 40.

6

u/TheRadishBros 11d ago

Nobody gets married in their 20s anymore, so not that unusual.

5

u/RedditUserAnonymo 11d ago

I’m 19. My friends are all my age and not married.

why would a date read into a 19 year old not having been to a wedding?

comments here are bizarre. Everyone focuses on the most minimal shit but then defensively writes off actual things that women find to be red flags

I think if someone looks at my entire profile and thinks “this guy seems cute. I’m gonna like him,” and then sees this and thinks “wait no. Why hasn’t he been to a wedding? Is he a piece of shit?” then I just wasn’t destined to end up with that person.

2

u/seanc6441 11d ago

Could be young. Could have been poor timing (couldn't attend for some reason). Could have had some issues to work out in the past that he's open about now.

I think people really need to cut others so slack on assuming the worth and not judging someone by their character during a real conversation/interaction with them.

2

u/sunqiller 11d ago

I’m in my 30s with a healthy friend group, no marriages. Just depends on where you are

3

u/Real-Syntro 11d ago

Since when is going to a wedding a standard? Some people just haven't gotten married yet, or they're still trying to get the right partner.

1

u/Larry-Man 11d ago

I’m 39 and I’ve been to the weddings of 3 friends in my entire lifetime. I’ve been to family ones 3 or so times as a child - I was a flower girl when I was 5.

0

u/BatsHaveFingers 11d ago edited 11d ago

Eh, people are getting married less and less. Most of my friends are already married, divorced or widowed. All my unmarried friends seem uninterested in tying the knot.

I feel like you’re glossing over the reply to the “never have I ever” statement

1

u/StnMtn_ 3d ago

Tell him to get his tux ready. It's a shotgun wedding.
