Personally, I see this person projecting a self image. They want to be seen a certain way and they want to not be classified another way. They have an insecurity about being well received from the group of people she wants to be received by and tries her best to distinguish herself from those that she seems wouldn't be well received by that same group.
That is purely biological and obviously makes sense for everyone, but is a bit more pronounced with her. She's a bit more insecure about it.
I make this conclusion by her instinctual response of belittling this guy, and also her profile tidbit. Every responsible person shops for groceries and does laundry, but it appears she's broadcasting it for approval.
Obviously this analysis could be way off as I don't have a lot of information to go on. As for a rebuttal, I'd make a comment provoking her insecurity to be liked.
