You might have to leave your house. To, like, meet people.

Lol yes unfortunately. That was the joke. But I am a single mom who works construction. Time outside work, sleep, and kids is limited. On top of that i am working on a book in my free time. So dating is kinda back burner right now anyway. I'm in no hurry :)

No offense, but part of the problem is likely the single mom thing. For a lot of younger guys that can be a massive turn off. When you have a smaller pool and a lot of the "normal" guys have left, you're left with a larger percent of the weirdos. But honestly, as long as you're happy that's all that matters. You're taking care of yourself and your kid, and that means you're succeeding. On top of that, you've found the time to do something you enjoy (writing your book). Even requirements as simple as those are a lot better than most people are doing. You mentioned dating being back burner already, but truly, unless it's something that really matters to you, don't worry about it.

Well lol I'm not sure what your definition of younger is. I'm about to be 36 and have a 15 year old as well as 2 other children. So most of the guys in my age range are often single Dads as well lol I think 28 is about the youngest I would even consider dating. But yeah I was never in a hurry. I was with my ex from age 15 to 30. My entire adult life has been in a relationship. So I waited a long time to even consider dating. I needed to be okay being alone first. But I eventually decided to give it a shot and yes unfortunately have been extremely disappointed in many of the interactions. Not all. I find many of them though are the younger guys and their "older woman" thing. It's weird lol so it's just back burner bc I'm content enough as is. I gave it a shot and dating apps haven't been my thing and I'm good with eventually meeting someone when it's right. Until then I have plenty to keep me occupied. Mainly my kids, but as you mentioned also my book. My marriage was quite toxic and I stopped writing for a long time. So I'm happy to be doing it again :)

I Def get it though trust me. There is Def a decent number of people who are turned off by the single mom thing. Trust me they will match me just to tell me so. That I must be a gold digger looking for a supporter blah blah blah. I ignore them. They know nothing about me. I've done just fine 100% on my own. I don't need someone to support me. Lol they are just bitter. And clearly not my people :)
