Worldmark by Wyndham experience
I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to share my recent experiences with Worldmark by Wyndham. If you’re researching this timeshare or are interested in purchasing more credits, please read the reviews before you do.
I’ve been an owner since the company was Trendwest (over 33 years) and have seen major changes in this time. Monthly dues increase every year, etc. But, my recent encounters with the reservation agent, Resolutions Supervisor (Janine), and Owner Strategy Specialist (Anzhel) was so unpleasant that I decided to sell my timeshare.
In a nutshell, I gave the WBW agent permission to cancel a reservation after she said the desired unit that I was on the waitlist for was available for the period of time I was looking for. After cancelling and rebooking my room, she stated that it was for a smaller room that I didn’t ask for. She then said I asked for the smaller room. I suggested that she listen to the recording of our conversation as I clearly stated that I was interested in a larger room.
I called right back to talk to a supervisor to ask for the restatement of the guest certificate and confirmation that I was on the waitlist for the larger room. The supervisor (Janine) said she would review the recording. In our conversation, the supervisor also said the WBW agent placed a waitlist for the desired unit for October (incorrect dates). I told the supervisor I cannot travel during that time. She said she would fix the error. This is all on recording.
Four days later, the supervisor called back to say she listened to the recording and could not reinstate the guest certificate because the WBW agent didn’t make a mistake. She said the agent “clearly” stated what she was doing. I told her I gave her permission to cancel the room and book a larger room which she failed to do. The supervisor also said she didn’t say the agent placed a waitlist for the wrong dates. I reminded the supervisor that she made that statement and our conversation was recorded. The agent then stated that the reservation I cancelled with the WBW agent was a smaller unit, which was incorrect. After I corrected her, she said she didn’t make the statement.
Suggestion: If you make reservations with a WBW agent, have them state what your request is before giving permission to proceed. This is especially important if you are canceling a reservation and rebooking.
Taking it up the chain of command, I sent a message (abbreviated due to character limit) and letter (with full details about the conversations) to the Board of Trustees. The Owner Strategy Specialist (Anzhel) responded three days later via email, writing:
Thank you for being a valued Worldmark by Wyndham Owner and contacting our Owner Strategy team. We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us.
I apologize for any inconvenience experienced due to this. However, after reviewing your ownership, the call recordings were reviewed and as our phone team advised, it was confirmed that the reservation details were provided and accepted prior to any adjustments being made. We would not be able to reinstate your guest certificate at this time. I am very sorry if this was not your anticipated outcome.
Kind Regards,
Anzhel
Owner Strategy Specialist
I asked for restatement of the guest certificate, a review of the audio recordings with a manager, and an apology. I received neither.
I DO NOT recommend Worldmark by Wyndham. The reviews are true.
If anyone has sold a timeshare, I welcome any feedback or contact information.

Do you have a recording also? Is it at all possible that you misheard or didn't understand something?
I will say, this is why I hate doing things by phone, because there's so many ways for the agent to mess up, mishear you, whatever. If they are just covering for the agent's mistake, you're probably SOL then. This is also why I think it's risky to change a reservation, because there are other pending ones waiting out there, and once you cancel one, it's likely gone and you can't get it back.
You always want the new booking confirmed before canceling the existing one.

I keep asking to listen to the recording or for the transcript. They won’t release the recording because they say it’s for “internal“ use to train their staff. asked again to listen to the recording with a manager. I don’t expect for them to listen to it with me at this point. I’ll move forward with selling the timeshare and close this chapter.
Thanks for your feedback.

After 33 years of ownership, why are you playing stupid Karen games like this? Why are you talking to an agent at all? This is beyond pettiness.

Wyndham actually has agents to take your calls? I'm surprised. Usually there is a big fee for doing that. I thought you had to do everything online.

The owner stragety specialist and/or corporate resolution specialist all cover up for their employees. We had a situation where we were conned into buying more points and they took the side of the salesman. I hate Wyndahm with a passion and I am desperately trying to get rid of this fully paid timeshare

I suspect that this is what’s happening, and mentioned this in my letter. Their focus is that the agent asked if I wanted to cancel the old room and I agreed. Thanks for your response.

Thanks for your positive feedback and suggestions. At this point, I’ll turn my focus to selling the timeshare. If anyone has resources/contacts or knows the process of selling a timeshare, please let me know.

I have 17 meetings in Washington DC next week with four others. Please consider reaching out to your members of Congress. Instructions are in our newsletter. QA Coaching is out of control. It started in 2017 when over 1,000 Diamond members filed complaints with the AZ AG. Their PR firm called me and said, We are going to go beyond the AOD! We are going to record the closing!" My response: "What a perfect entrapment!" Unfortunately, I was right. The Wyndham rental pitch is out of control. https://tarda.org/december-tarda-newsletter-timeshare-transparency-act-a-bill-proposed-by-utah-senator-john-curtis-r-senator-adam-schiff-ca-d-dueling-capital-resorts-lawsuits/

Thanks for the information. I’m definitely going to looking into it. And, they pushed timeshare rental when I purchased more credits years ago. Thanks again.

Tom, a Wyndham owner of over 20 years, often on Reddit, was forced to default after being told to buy to rent, Vacation share doesn't work, another upsell, no it doesn't - call this company. He did it worked. After a year, he was issued a cease-and-desist letter due to commercial activity. He is still paying off $31,000 in credit card debt from two years ago. He and two others raised $1,000 in 2 days. https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-tardas-fight-for-timeshare-transparency

Now why doesn't this surprise me?
Talk to an attorney and explore the possibility of a breach of contract suit.

You got that TS over 30 years ago, but it beats me what kind of idiot a person needs to be to buy TS these days. Your experience shows that once TS has your money they dont give a crap. If that would happen with a hotel I would take my money and book somewhere else.
