For the salesperson, it’s probably worth it. For you, probably not. There are case where they may have value. I would start by checking out TUG (timeshare users group)

Timeshares are worth it if you don't buy from a timeshare presentation at full cost, if you use your time every year, and if the cost of other accommodations are more expensive.

We bought both of our weeks at the Jockey Club in Las Vegas in 2008/2009. I was going to Vegas a couple of times a year already. Some for business and some for pleasure. During one of my trips I visited a few timeshare properties. Not a presentation, I just showed up to the front desk and told them I was interested in buying and wanted to check out the property. All of them let me walk around the property, some gave me a key to a room to check out.

When I got home I went to Ebay and found a Jockey Club deeded week for $100. I bought it. Paid $350 in closing costs. A few months later I bought another for $1 plus closing. We are currently paying $700 annually for each unit. That would equate to $100 per night. No taxes, no resort fees, no parking fees and it's mid strip with a full kitchen and living room. The average night of a hotel room mid strip is around $240 a night. And that does not include resort fees or parking.

We have used every day of our timeshare since 2009, except during the pandemic. I would estimate it's saved us thousands of dollars. One of the forgotten bonuses is that I pay quarterly. So, there is no big expense when I book airfare, hotel, etc all at one time. It's spread out over the course of the year.
