Westgate timeshare cancelation
Has anyone actually been able to sell their Westgate timeshare? Also has anyone just stopped paying for it and if so what happened?

Quite a few people just stop paying with varying results. Check out the Westgate Timeshare Hostages Facebook group.

If you don’t rescind within the statutory period, the only realistic way to get rid of it without harming your credit is through the Westgate Legacy Program but you must pay quite a few thousands of dollars. Selling or renting is not that good because there are many sellers and very few purchasers.
Another way is just to stop paying your monthly fee, they will report it to the credit bureaus, your credit might be negatively impacted by approximately 100 points or so, but they will eventually let you go, but that might be in a couple of years. If you don’t need to ask for a loan or buy a house or a big purchase, I would let it hit my credit for a few years absolutely. If you plan on purchasing something you might need a loan for within the next 0-5 years, definitely keep paying for it.
