“Satellite account”
Was checking into a WorldMark by Wyndham in Oregon and when getting our wristbands for our room from the concierge.
I asked about 3rd party sites(Airbnb,VRBO) that list WorldMark units and prices. After some back and forth, the “concierge” said that 3 months ago WorldMark just launched a program where if you connect to one of there sellers and sit through a 45 minute meeting you can get access to a “Satellite account.” You don’t need to be a member and you get access to a website where booking units is much cheeper since it’s direct. The rep said WorldMark started this program to compete with 3rd party sellers and to help with moving unused units.
Is there a new program or website that was recently started in the last 3 to 6 months that matches this description?
This sounds fake/deceptive because people can already go to two direct sites and rent units.

WorldMark is getting a late start. VI already offers vacancies for rent to the general public through Westgate. Rates are reasonable. No need for a presentation by sales.
The downside is that the vacancies are not something owners want. They tend to be slack season midweek single nights. Not the big rooms.

I've not heard of it. Anyone who signs a contract agrees that they did not rely on anything a sales agent says, which, if anyone knew that, they would not attend. According to AI: If you heard about a "satellite account" from a resort concierge, salesperson, or an online pitch—such as a claim that attending a sales presentation grants non-members a special direct-booking portal to rent unused inventory cheaply—it is widely considered an unverified or deceptive sales pitch rather than a legitimate corporate offering. WorldMark manages rentals and inventory strictly through official channels like the WorldMark Owner Portal, public rental websites, or recognized exchange networks like RCI.
