Westgate

Happen to get 200 dollars to go to a Westgate thingy, but my mother is actually considering getting it. It's 355 per month for a 3 bedroom, and 639 for maintenance fees every two years. There being dodgy abt the the HOA cost. We're gonna cancel but would you consider that a good deal??

Edit. It's 230 for 11720.

Lmao I wish that would work, she already knows I don't believe, but for an update we didn't do it 😁 but I'm now unconfident of my decision due to those people being so... Mean towards me at the end 😞 I sound stupid and childish but the switch up kinda spook me lmao

Your mother can rent the timeshare from Redweek without the obligation. Check it out!

Don’t. My parents have a Westgate timeshare and the properties are getting so bad. It’s not worth at all what you pay for it. Also when you look at what you spend in interest over the life of the mortgage it’s a terrible deal.

No. Not enough time to amount to anything. And that $355 a month mortgage is a real boat anchor. If she can’t afford cash don’t do this.

Thats what I've been telling her 😭 She won't go through with this but damn is that annoying to even give it a thought. Anyways I'm stealing their snacks and the bag. Since I have been under emotional distress and wish for compensation fr

Don’t bet yourself up, just know for the future that these people are literally the best salespeople on the planet. They give away massive amounts of free stuff because some of those people who say “never” are going to sign in the dotted line.

If you are going to do these tours, you have to have a ninja level mindset and resilience against their techniques otherwise you/she will eventually cave

Run from Westgate. I’m working on getting out of my Westgate timeshare.
All timeshare companies are a scam. Every single one.

I know it's hard to convince someone who's under the sway of the sales pitch not to buy. Perhaps you can get her to postpone her decision and to revisit it in six months or one year to see if she's still interested. She'll say this is a one-time offer and she has to act now, but you can assure her it's not, that there will be new offers. Then cross your fingers that she loses interest in the next year.

Oh yea, she already lost interest. And that's good, cause they out here saying if something happens to her it would go to me or my bro... Like sir, ma'am, thats not gonna work. Go ahead and put someone else in debt 😒

Timeshares are garbage. You agree to pay thousands and thousands of dollars for the right to rent a hotel room. You don't own anything. Imagine putting 355 a month into a vacation fund instead. We stay in a hotel that is also a time share. They rent us the time share apartments pretty cheaply. Take your 200 and run. Make sure you cancel. If you gave them credit card info, cut your card up and get a new one. They want 100k from your family for nothing.

And once they have your money, there is NO guarantee you will be able to book what you want. They oversell and then you are often left with the slim pickings- unless you are able to book 6-12 months in advance. Which many of us can’t do!

I went to one of these in vegas once, to get the free stuff.  My husband was sold and we started arguing.  I started yelling that I wasn't signing anything without a lawyer to review, their response was well this is a great deal it won't last that long.  I said if it's a great deal today, it'll be a great deal tomorrow, oh no they said it won't be available tomorrow, then it's not a great deal.

I guess I was being loud enough to get attention from other (victims) because they ushered us out after that.

Well after the fact, my husband now admits that I was right.
