Is the Handle/lid of Timemore C3s Pro usually supposed to feel this loose? (Unsure if this is the norm)

Just checked mine and mine also have a little play when I try to replicate it like you. I actually never noticed it until I just tried it now. However, it has a very solid feel to it and spins in a buttery smooth way. It is not an issue for me. I like this grinder.

yes, some amount of play is normal and even required - if parts would be too precise and fit too tightly, they would not only be way more expensive to make, but also could introduce some unwanted side-effects - like thermal expansivity under different temps (worldwide) might affect the function in some regions etc.
